Yup Cynthia you would have yourself some SBEL's, my favorite mix. Mine look just like the pic. You may get blue flecks instead of black from that roo.

Just a friendly reminder that I am still looking for good quality black silkie hens if anyone has any they'd be willing to sell or tradeBlack with silver leakage is okay to.
Missy is beautiful! She looks like she's glowing! If I didn't have chicks coming out of my ears I would take your barred rock! She's a pretty little thing! So, I know most everyone is not wanting a crowing rooster. lol..but, I have this cockerel that was hatched for the NYD hatch a long. No crowing yet! He's 4 months old. You can see he's a he. So what's the latest you have had a rooster crow? And, when are they able to start fertilizing eggs? Once they crow? Mount? I sure hope he is a quiet one most of the time. I have a rooster collar waiting for him. You can see that he is an EE, came from a pretty blue/green egg, more blue. I wonder what a leghorn with him would make. Blue egg layers? Hope so!That's my Barred Rock for sale next to him.
They are always together, he will miss her. If she sells.

Best hatch I have gotten so far. Only half made it though. I know its because of the darn incubator and its causing the eggs to grow at different rates even though it has a fan and thats suppose to make the temp more even. I waited till the last second to lock down and it's those chicks that were ready to pip that all hatched the best that they have yet, but all the slower ones just drown and I didnt even have the humidity high this time! All the others hatched great and dry as they should, but I did end up helping 2 out who got stuck because the inside of the shell was drying out too fast because I purposely had the humidity low. But even so the other half of the eggs just quit. Didnt even finish absorbing or anything. Not sure why this keeps happening but im narrowing it down to because they are all developing a little faster/slower then others and the slower ones are the ones I keep loosing right as soon as I up the humidity even a little bit. I really need to get a decent incubator and hatcher. I am going to save up and try to find one on ksl.Hey! How did your hatch go?
