Utah!

I'm in Hamilton farms too. I looked at the city ordinance, the HOA, PUD, and terms and covenants of Hamilton farms. They all refer to and support the city zoning ordinance with one exception. If you don't have at least a half acre you cannot keep a horse. The city ordinance says you can have a horse on a one third acre.
OMG that is hilarious that there are 3 of us from one subdivision on here. So I don't want a horse (though I technically do have 1/2 acre) but am wondering about roosters.

That is hilarious. You are just fine to have roosters as far as all the printed regulations and zoning are concerned.

That is what I was thinking too but thought I may have missed something along the way. I could not find any rooster restrictions and was wondering if they then just resort to noise ordinance if there is complaints.

So, I know most everyone is not wanting a crowing rooster. lol..but, I have this cockerel that was hatched for the NYD hatch a long. No crowing yet! He's 4 months old. You can see he's a he. So what's the latest you have had a rooster crow? And, when are they able to start fertilizing eggs? Once they crow? Mount? I sure hope he is a quiet one most of the time. I have a rooster collar waiting for him. You can see that he is an EE, came from a pretty blue/green egg, more blue. I wonder what a leghorn with him would make. Blue egg layers? Hope so!

That's my Barred Rock for sale next to him.

They are always together, he will miss her. If she sells. :)

My pretty Missy had a bath and a comb, still a lot of under coat to get..takes a few days to get it done right. I can't do it in one..whew.

I think it's something to do with them hatching during a dark time of year. Our current roo hatched last Oct. and it took him four and a half months to crow. He had been fertilizing eggs for two months before that, though... I didn't actually know who the roo was out of my adolescents, because he didn't have a comb to speak of, and didn't crow. The only marker I had was that his legs were beefier. That is my one experience with a late crower. He was a tender boy until recently too. Ha ha ha he got bossed by all the hens, poor guy. That boy of yours is beautiful! Lucky. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that he won't start crowing... :)
