Utah!

Thanks eggsbert. I'm leery about even putting them up for grabs, as is. I'm hoping I could find someone else interested in preserving the breed, and not just someone who wants to exploit them. I'd be keeping a trio for myself, as well as a spare cockerel. I love my girls, but the breeding thing is overwhelming DH right now :(

Oh my I wish! I let all the scenarios of what would happen if I took you up on this and all of them ended with my husband getting a new wife so I will use my restraint but am so envious of whoever gets them.

macys and rancharo market has watermelon for 4lbs for a dollar. not sure if that will change when the new ads come out or not or when the new ads come out but if you take the ad into walmart they price match. i got one for my girls to freeze and help keep them cool. rancharo market has it for that price often. can be a good chicken treat as well as human treat :) rancharo market normally has tons of good deals especially on produce and with walmart price matching it works well :) yes i like to give them treats like that at times lol. red thank you for your kind words. maybe keep your trio and breed them when the time is right, no need for breeding pens or anything right now.

Hello! I live in Holladay and I am wondering if there are any local businesses that sell chicken feed? I had an experience at IFA that kind of bothered me, and I would prefer to buy somewhere else (and local) if possible.

Thank you. I will see about trying them instead :) I would just prefer to go to a knowledgable place, and IFA showed me that that aren't so knowledgeable.
when i fed commercial feed i liked the feed at cal ranch better. i fed all flock pellets. its nutrina brand of feed and if you look them up they have all sorts of info on their website

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that info. I'm a first timer, so I wasn't sure where else to go. IFA told me to feed my 8 week old girls layer mash...and it just didn't seem right to me. You'd think the folks at IFA would know better than I do, but I guess not.

Hi all I haven't been around much I've been busy taking care of my birthday present a beautiful horse named Tucker. I still have some seramas for sale. This weather is hard on all the chickens. One of my Seranas had a severe eye infection Never seen it in a chicken. Looked like what the kittens get big bulgy and full of puss. I brought her in the house and put some eye ointment in her eye. The other two chickens in the cage with her are fine so I'm thinking its probably and injury of some sort. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer
