Mine are small, but I have a few different sizes..lol..
I will try and get out tomorrow to get some pictures. It's supposed to be close to 50! I will probably let them out into the run if the snow melts in there. It's so cold now, I can't imagine it getting that warm by tomorrow, but that's Utah weather.

Congratulations, Cynthia! And in the box, too. What a good girl!

bird-man, if those coops are small, then that means that I have two tiny ones! Although once I get my big-o-butt coop built, one of those smaller ones will be converted into a posh nesting box kind of place. Only the best for the ladies, you know

Jersey---your coop is so so cute! Love it!
Cynthia--congrats on that egg! What a good girl to put it right where ya want it!

Today I went to Cal ranch. I sat in the isle doing chicken math for over an hour, then my DH finally hauled me out of there. I think I better stay out of there!! I was ready to buy four more chickens lol! And I swore I would not get more chicks from them. We are at 14 now, but there are some boys that will be leaving in a few weeks....and one bipolar chicken that will be moving along as well. Moody little stink! So it is not as many as it sounds. Woops! There goes that chicken math again :duc

We are starting our new coop/expansion next weekend, supposed to be near 60 degrees, WOW! What a change from this weekend to next weekend. Utah weather, winter one day, spring the next....then many more days of winter here and there. Frustrating! But I am excited to see the finished house for my girls. I am thinking---"La Casa de Muchos Pollos!" will be the new name lol :D

I know chicken Math!! I've been looking at babies at Cal Ranch, but I have fun talking to folks there about them. Scott just goes off to other parts of the store while I gab. I did get myself a RIR at IFA about a week ago. Thought, better than buying more eggs..my bators are full right now anyway! Can I laugh at myself? Nah, I have fun with those fuzzy little butts.

Yep Lisa, have to get rid of the little stinkers when you know they are going to stay that way, and I think you know the signs by now! That chicken math keeps on going, and going. I am one to take out the stinkers too. I want a friendly flock. I'm not one with a field for them to run around in, close quarters here, so get along little ladies! I also want laying girls!

Brad, those pencils are both very sweet, just to let you know. They come right up to me when I open the coop door. They are getting old enough to know, I am the food lady! My Speckled Sussex is also friendly. My little lavender, not so much. And, is anyone else with the lavenders seeing tiny..I mean tiny birds for the girls? My lavender is so small. Maybe I'm just comparing her to the others, but still...
I am putting the BO outside today in the Nursery Hutch. I have a warm lamp in there, and open the front tarp all the way on warm days. She is going out with my EE and RIR. They need the lamp while the weather is still dipping down into the 20's at night. They don't lay right under the lamp, they all seem to prefer the back corner..less heat by the time I put them out.

It is supposed to warm today. I want to let my girls out of the big coop if so. They just love getting out of that run. I just wish I had my hose hooked up to clean the mess they make.

Hey Whittni~thanks for the congrats! You have no idea how long I've been waiting on this girl, thinking, any day now, any day now... she's looked and acted ready for about two weeks now. I've had her since she was tiny. Beautiful B Rock now.

There's my book for a while..take care all..hope Wendy is doing ok, haven't heard from her in a while..

Here are a few pictures of our coops. Our main coop is 8'x8' and was a dilapidated old shed without a roof or one wall when we decided to get chickens a year ago.

and this is a small little coop that I built from left over scraps this winter. I acquired a couple of old english bantams that I hope will go broody and hatch some fertile eggs in there for me this spring.

Cute coop br! Nice birds. I have a bantam that is wanting to go broody. She is getting pretty bare on the chest. Will sit, until I get her off, then she will go run around with the others..but I can't believe how much feathering she has lost..I just discovered that this morning. Maybe I should let the poor thing lay on some eggs. Heave knows I have some. My DH would have to set up the broody area again. Would be fun to see Baily as a mom..oh boy, I'm thinking..one protective mom!

Ok Brad..here's some pics of your girl~
Pretty in the sunlight, although, this photo looks a bit washed out..
This one is better..she looks prettiest when standing of course!
Sweet face, sweet girl!

Here's some pictures of some of my girls out today..my Barred girl that has started to lay, and my lavender girls, that won't leave each others side!
There's my brown leghorn on the left, and my Buff O. on the right.
The lavenders have found a home. A very nice home. Will go later this month. And, they get to stay together! Little cochin bantams.
