Nice Coop BRLarson!
Cynthia----those lav cochins are gorgeous. About the lavender ameraucanas, yes my girl is tiny. My boyish looking is huge, and when he stretches up tall good sakes he is double her height at least. Looooooong neck on him. She is adorable. Her disposition is very sweet, I can put her in with the little chicks and she gets along. The big one---no way. He HATES my australorp chick, and they duke it out if they are around each other. Before I get my australorp out in the big coop I will likely need to take the lav boy to his new home.
I went out (beautiful day!) this morning and took the plastic off of one side of the run. Made my girls very happy. I watched them for quite awhile, I am still trying to figure out who is doing all of the feather picking. My SLW and the GSL are doing it. The GSL is actually eating the feathers up,just gobbles them down. Makes me sad---my GSL lays the best eggs. Those are the last two from Cal ranch last year. Funny how I have had to weed all of those out one by one. None of the new ones do it.
My black ones from you----Gorgeous. So sweet too. They have been following me around all morning out there, hoping for a treat. (Yes they got many haha!) I really love those two. Hoping the lavender girl stays as sweet as she is now. Those three, and my barred rock, and my broody bantam are keepers for sure. Maybe my BO. The rest are on probation. I told them this morning---"You are too easily replaced, you better watch it! " Same as you, there is not a lot of room so if they do not like the quarters and the company, they can stay at someone else's casa. And that casa might have a crockpot so they better behave! When my new ones start laying, they older girls better be on their best behaviour---momma's getting tough haha!
