Just so everyone knows I am still in the hospital.  Sucks but I am doing better,  They are going to put in a central line today as they can't keep an IV in my that doesn't get blow out.  They tell me probably will be in 4 or 5 more days.  YUK

that is a LONG time! Geez you must be so sick.....poor girl. Thought and prayers are with you, I hope you are comfortable at least and not hurtimg or miserable, if i lived down there i would definitely bring you a cheeseburger Keep us posted....glad you are able to let us know.

Ugh, I am so sorry that you are still in the hospital, Sundance!! If my week calms down at all, I swear I'm making the trip to Salt Lake to come see you. I've heard central lines can be kind of a pain going in, but are better, more comfortable than an IV.

Lisa, I wish you'd taken a picture of Corvidae's babies! The lacing is finally starting to come in on my April pullet (?). I think it's going to be a gorgeous bird, black laced. I would've loved to see the others though- the one I gave my SIL looks exactly the same.

Hattie, like you guys divided the cost of the feed over the winter and the grain at the end? Or you got some credit towards the cost for providing the land/water/etc? I'm still trying to decide.

I also have some chocolate pied female muscovy duck babies for sale. $10.00 to $15.00 depending on how old they are. The oldest ones are fully feathered.

She has some quail pairs too, the end of this month.

Hey Sphinx, if you get a cow that makes you a real farmer.....you need a straw hat and overalls lol! I want to be a farmer! We were thinking about getting those little black pot bellied pigs, do they count?

Good to see you here sundance!  Hope you are feeling better!

  Look at what I did this morning.  I took some fertile eggs over to Hector..(Chiko) and also my Little Red.   Got some cute pictures of those two that are broody together.  He says that he has separated them, but the little cochin keeps going back to that nest.  Guess they will do this together.  Plus, I got some silly pictures of me and Hector..he's such a good kid.  Very tall good kid!  He's holding Little Red. 
   The BO is all puffed up, the chochin is just looking at me, like, hope she doesn't move me.  She hogged
  all the eggs at first while we were putting some in.  Then we put some further under Syndie, the buff. 


 It's a tight fit, but they are determined! 


  What a good kid, I probably embarrassed him..but he took it. 


     See, a good sport!


   He loves his chickens, and he loves ducks!  And, game birds.


    Here is a really pretty splash cochin he has for sale.  She has a crooked beak, but she eats fine. This
    is gorgeous!



 Ok Lisa, these eggs are blue!  The camera didn't even pick up how blue!  And guess where he got the hen
 that is laying these?  Cal Ranch!   The hen is for sale, she has a lot of blue and has some beige in her
   coloring.  Wish you could see these eggs in person.  Wow.


    Oh, and look at what else he has.  A cute little white crested black polish ~ girl.    This made me
   excited to see if mine hatch.  Set my eggs last night. 

   She has a sweet face.

so nice to put a face to hector love the two broodys, i wounder if their will be a custody battle when the chicks hatch

Our son got his call today. He's going to Atlanta Georgia!

He's in the states!

I feel better having him in the states. I'm a mom. Plus, it will be so much easier to send him packages!! Mail him and all that stuff. No worrying about him in another country and him getting him some packages there. Christmas will be so fun...I get to send a biig box.

sundance..glad you are feeling a little better. I hope you do get to come home sooner than later. I'm thinking that those fires really got you started with the chest stuff..that was pretty bad for a while.

Oh Cynthia I bet you are sooooo relieved. I am glad for him, and you! And Atlanta is far enough away to give him some fun experiences, so different than around here. But still US soil. That will be awesome! I bet you miss him already though, that is tough to see them go for so long. When are your chicks due to hatch?

Kimmypie-I have a 6 1/2 week old Wyandotte pullet that looks REALLY similiar to the chicken in your profile pic. I'll take pictures later and post them. She's a real sweetie. (BluJems-she's the first one that hatched from the eggs you gave me.)

Sundance-Oofda, you must have a real bad case of pneumonia if they are keeping you so long. I'm sorry! Is hubby taking care of your chickens?

Cynthia-SO HAPPY for your and your son! Atlanta is a completely different world, even though it's in the US. we lived about 4 hours from there in Huntsville, Alabama, for 4 years. It took us a long time to understand the southern dialect, and their way of life can be very different. In the big city of Atlanta, he'll meet all kinds, though. That'll be fun.

Sphinx-my parents bought a little beef calf years and years ago. Even though we had a little farm and 15 acres, we didn't have cattle. (Horses!) So my parents made an agreement with an uncle to raise it up with the rest of his beef cattle. My uncle Art, who had been raising beef for decades, agreed....and of course, that was the one calf he fell in love with. Named him "George". George followed Uncle Art all around the farm, was only in the pasture with the other cattle about half the time. When George was mature enough to be butchered, Uncle Art traded Mom and Dad for a different steer so he could keep George as his personal pet for many more years. Ha ha ha

Lisa, are you going to trade BAs with your neighbor??? And no worries about Michelle's ducks...Sierra really isn't interested in the Muscovy breed, and is 1 duck over her limit right now anyway.

As for what I bought from Cal Ranch yesterday....there were some cute little bantams there, but I resisted and walked out with some Vegetable Garden weed 'n feed. Ha ha-you were right to be suspicious of this game, thanks to Wendy.

La Casa & Auntie Hattie-Polish pictures!
The newest babies I got from you, Hattie....the cuckoo I think is a boy, but hoping it does a switch-a-roo on me. Funny pun, ha! And the black I think is a girl. The cuckoo's wattles aren't existent but are turning slightly pink. The black baby's wattle area is still very much fleshy colored. Hmm, they look pinkish in the pics though.



Here's Zorro, AKA, The Masked Villian. Howard says we don't want any "bad eggs" around here, only "good guys". Ha ha


And here is the blue cuckoo, tenatively named Storm, after the heroin in X-men whose hair is all white. Isn't she pretty?
