Utah!

Here's my problem with rehoming the BLRW...if I do I will only have 7 and I don't like odd numbers! LOL I'm not willing to start with any babies though, I'd need something the size of my current ladies. They are all about to come up on POL. Really this BLRW has soured me on them. I got one from Corvidae a while back, but when I posted pics everyone told me it was a boy so I rehomed to my neighbor. Come to find out that chicken is supposedly a female and already laying! They only have meat chickens in their backyard that are 10 weeks old, then the little BLRW who is the only egg bird back there. The rest of their layers are out on the property they own in another town. So now I'm kicking myself for rehoming that one because it was soooo pretty. This new one is okay, but I get so mad at her for picking on everyone, they all try to steer clear but she's still mean.

Kimmy, it's too bad you aren't a little closer to me. I've got a boy I could put that hen in with that I'm sure would straighten out her attitude. At least, so long as the boys are around. Freezer Camp is imminent, but still pending. Sundancen, if you want and I still have the boys around after you try putting your hen in timeout, I could put her with one of them for a couple of days to see if she mellows at all.

So, with all of the fun animals we've had coming into my boyfriend's yard, he and I have talked and we think we might try and get a fence up around the entire yard, not just the back half. So once some money is saved up (har har) we might well be putting up some fencing. As much as I hate fenced yards

But hey, if there's a fence up, that means I could have geese, right? Because then they could wander the yard and we wouldn't have to worry about them biting people

That reminds me - Iain Utah, what's the good word with that whole situation of your friend who needs to rehome the geese?

Eagle Mountain isn't THAT far from West Valley. :) If you want her I'd be willing to meet somewhere, we come north fairly often because that's where most stuff is. Actually I have my sewing machine up in Sandy getting serviced and I'll need to pick that up soon.

Oh my gosh, you guys! I went to Cal Ranch this afternoon, and they are having Summer Chick days! They had lots of cute baby chicks and lots of ducklings-even a couple breeds that are rare for them to have. :) Sasha went on a trip to Cal-Ranch and brought home......

I was there today too getting chicken feed and lo and behold they had chicks. My kids were so disappointed that I wouldn't let them bring home any! The one in American Fork had ducks, turkeys, and a lot of different chicken breeds.

What did Sasha bring home!!!!

Kimmy, do you think your neighbors would be willing to let you trade, since they weren't really going for meat birds? I'd ask...

Cynthia, like the pictures you took. It's nice to put a face to Chiko.

Kimmy---I hear you on corvidae's birds----I hatched and sold several this spring and got to see a couple the other day, they are so so so beautiful, it seems like they took a little longer to get their lacing in and start to mature but boy when they did i was wishing I would have kept one. I will kick myuself with ya :)

Sasha---I got my BR Violet during the Pioneer Chick days last summer. I got New Years eggs from her! I remember being so surprised they had another round of chicks. I purposefully am avoiding buying feed of any sort. Ummm, well, so far anyway, my two babies left in the garage look like one girl and one boy so maybe just one... I am voting that you got a........something bantam......or no chick and you are teasing.....Sphinx has made me suspicious of this game now.....lol

Sasha how about some little bantam Cochins?? Something fun I hope!:D

Fun seeing the pictures Cynthia. Now I know who Chico is. I'm loving your broodies in the same box. My Silkies were together but I had to separate them because they spent most the days stealing each others eggs. They wouldn't stop. What kind of eggs are they going to hatch?

Thanks for the allergy help. I'll see if I can get some relief from them.

Sphinx I can remember how we divided up the cost of the cow but I think we added the cost of the feed into the amount we paid.

Sundancen how are you doing? Any better?
