Utah!

BluJems---I will get you the BCM pullet, let me know if you want the clean faced Ameraucana.....I do not know how that affects breeding, or how many chicks would acquire that trait...I am getting the project marans because I am not breeding, I only care about the eggs, they have colors coming out that are not to her standards.... She keeps her breeding group very uniform.
Cynthia, soooo jealous! I want that blue egg! haha that is very exciting! Nice size too.
My GSL is in the nest today, I have all these squatters, what is up? They are taking forever. We are over 20 weeks on many, some over 25......c'mon girls!
Sundance, I think I am going Wed night instead off Tue night to get the birds, just so you know...I forgot it was Pioneer Day tomorrow and my kids have stuff going on. Let me know when you want to meet, or if anybody is headed this way holler! I am hoping you will come up, I have not gotten to meet you yet! I love meeting new chicken friends.

ok probably just the BCM....thanks

Sundance, LOVE the pictures. Your grandsons are indeed adorable. If you do head up to Logan, you should stop by my place and say hi. It's a nice rest stop between SL and Logan. We are going to be in Zion later this week though.

I have to admit that none of you thought my rooster camping story was as funny as I did.
Oh Sphinx, I enjoyed the story! I would love to have one dedicated pet rooster to carry around with me. :) Clay had the potential to be that, but now that he's settled in the big coop/run with all the girls, he's "too good" for me anymore.

Did I miss the post of where we can send the money to help with the geese?
Also, anyone interested in a silkie roo? It is that one I posted about. I don't know if there is a correct term but I call it golden colored. I heard that you can take your roos to Wheeler Farm. True story?
Yes, I am chicken crazy. Sitting on Waikiki beach looking at this forum and worrying about the chickens at home because I heard about their first lightening storm and I wasn't there. Good thing my boys are good flock assistants!
Wowie! Enjoy the beautiful area and weather for me!
Look what I found in the favorite nest box today! A blue egg! Cleo has started to lay. In the nest box, and it's a hard shell egg..I saw her eating oyster shell yesterday and thought, why are you eating that you silly girl, you aren't even laying yet! She is now!

Her egg is almost as big as the BO and SS...but not as big as Miss Piggy's! Hope
they stay this big then start getting bigger. :p

Got myself a red sex link to go with my lonesome batam, that I got to go with my lonesome showgirl, then she doesn't make it, so my bantam needed
someone. That poor baby made the most sad noise this morning..I have never heard that before. Off to Cal Ranch I went. I don't want any more bantams like that, so got my red sex link that didn't work out the last time I bought one there about a month and a half ago..it turned out to be a boy! In a pullet bin. Happens. This one better be a girl.

hey guys, I got a blue egg! It's so pretty. This is the chicken from sonew. The black Ameraucana. Big muff and puffy cheeks, the one that faked me out for a while. I almost gave her up thinking she was a he!
Yay!!! What a pretty blue egg!

I have 4 pullets that are now 20-24 weeks of age, and none are laying yet.

Should have 2 brown egg layers, a blue egg layer and a white. Why are they taking soooo looooong to start laying? Could the heat be putting them off? I know, I know, 20 weeks, they are young, but I'm anxious! :)

Gasp! Clay, how could you be such a heart breaker? You're just like any other ladies' man I know! *scold*

Sasha, we're in the same boat with the egg layers. I need to get a picture of my RIR's face and see if it still considered pink, or if it's red enough for laying. It's driving me crazy! I've got five girls that are in the 20-25 week range of age. One of them (EE) I'm not expecting to lay any time soon. But out of the GLW, the BSL, and the RIR, surely you'd think someone would be getting close by now. And that BO can't be too far behind

Alright, I'm really starting to get worried about my two black Amer's now. Everything on them says girl, except they have large legs, which is common with my EE girls. But something about them is setting off the 'boy' alarm in my head. Hmmm, couldn't be the way they had their hackles out and were chest bumping today, could it?

Pictures to come later.

Picture overload! I was getting pictures of my Ameraucanas and thought, hey, why not do a photo shoot?

First up is Shirley, the Welsummer I got for my mom from Cynthia. She's a good girl

The Icelandic from Cynthia - female! Woohoo!!!

Gunther, one of my Icelandic boys

Sven, the other boy

Chuck Norris! Do you guys think he/she looks at all girly? I'm having a hard time with this one.

Raven, the first Ameraucana in question.

Raven's tail.

Agnes, the second Ameraucana I'm suspicious of.

Agnes's tail.

And Jemma, my blue Ameraucana who I'm dead certain is a girl.

There is way too much fun going on here. Beautiful chicken pictures and beautiful geese! I wish I could help out with the geese.
Sundancen I'm glad you are out of the hospital and I hope you continue to get better.

you have way to many roaming dogs in your neighborhood. I love hearing all the solutions to the problem. Mule, emus, hot wire fence. I think we are going to get this problem figured out for you.

Question........ What on earth is all of this chick buying from Cal Ranch! You guys have got to stop telling me about these things. I have 8 eggs hatching in 9 days and I was considering going and looking at IFA to see if they had some and I don't even know what i'm going to do with the chicks I'm hatching! ( no Cal Ranch here) sheesh!
Well my little broody Silkie has been surviving in the big outdoors under the bush. 9 more days to go! I've been a nervous wreck with her out there. This will not be allowed to happen again. I will catch her earlier and make her stay in the coop! Way to stressful.
My BLRW that I've had for two months and is supposed to be a year old is from her. Now I'm wondering if maybe she is eating the eggs? I mean, after two months she really should be laying right? She is a beautiful bird but she picks on my other hens...my neighbor still hasn't come by for the trade so I may list her on KSL.
