Utah!

Poor boy, I AM glad he made it through the night though, that is a good thing, if the little guy would just drink! You should come visit...if you can :) I would love the company. Like Cynthia said about the sick chickens though make sure you wear different duds and I will spray your shoes and hands and stuff :) Just to be safe.

Maybe I will get a new egg while you are here. Although it is very oddly quiet out there this morning for a change. :D

Casa - I don't know if you want to put any money into this, but Dr Folland at Parrish Creek Vetrinary Clinic specializes in birds. If it were me I would probably take Thing (is it 1 or 2?) down to his place and have him take a look. He is very good. It might clear up your mystery and hopefully help him.

X2!!! Dr. Folland is amazing!!

Argh! I had unexpected guests show up this weekend. Changed my whole weekend around! Sphinx so sad I didn't get to Zion's to see you. I feel so bad about your little Polish. I'm really hoping he pulls through. If he pulled through the night and isn't worse that's good. Keep us updated. Have you tried giving him his favorite treat or hard boiled eggs chopped up? I wish he would let you give him something to drink. Poor little guy. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will come out of this.

Lisa I didn't know that about Polish and Marek's. Yikes! I'm a Polish lover and don't like hearing that.

Well my eggs should be hatching tomorrow! Getting pretty excited. My broodies have hung in there day after day in this heat. So i'm excited to see what the results of their hard work will be.

I'm hearing about all of these eggs everyone is getting and I'm only getting one a day from my Polish girl. Can't wait for my others to stop sitting and start laying again. I had to buy eggs at the store last night.

Auntie Hattie, that's so exciting! I hope the hatching goes well for you and the girls.

Sphinx, I hope your chick pulls through okay. It's hard to see them suffering.

Alright, on a different note, I've had a rather amusing couple of days. Yesterday was the first day my BO and GLW got to mingle with the EE roo. I was worried that he might try to mount the BO and hurt her, since she's still only about 4 months old. Well, it turns out that neither my BO or my GLW were very impressed with the roo. He danced for them, tried to sidle up and intimidate them, even to flog them, and the girls handed it back to him. Every time he got in their personal bubble, they'd flare up and give him attitude. Poor guy didn't know what to think. It's bad enough that he only has two tail feathers right now, and I noticed last night that he's in the middle of a moult, so he looks terrible. He didn't get much lovin' from my Marans, either. I think she's planning to go broody again......

The fun continued today, too, but this time at my house. I took the turkey poult and the three BR chicks from Lisa outside for the first time. I'm pretty sure that out of the BR's, I have one boy, one girl, and one ??? The last one looks like a girl, but today she hopped on the turkey like a rooster

Either I've got a cheeky boy, or a very assertive girl. What's more, look what I saw the poult doing several times:

Yes, he's displaying. Crazy hormonal preteens.

Well, I just found them. Pointy hackle feathers on one of my black Ameraucana's. Can't see any clearly yet on the other one, but I'll bet they show up.

Aw man the pointy ones are no good. My black's are really small but definitely there. Cute pics of that little poult, and love the lowdown on their interaction, too funny your poor roo must feel like a wuss. haha!

Sundance came, and her hubby, and Sphinx! and a sphynx cat....very bizarre those little things, my kids now want one. We had a great visit, despite the heat. Sundance took my bouncy little EE chick and her two birds, now I have ONE bird in my garage., Just spent an hour cleaning my garage, dusting, hauling junk. It is clean for the first time in .....well.....since I got chickens haha! My Polish lonely baby is really lonely. I think it is looking more and more like a boy. :( BIG SAD FACE! My son is saying "are you kidding!!" he just cannot seem to get that chick he wants.

Thanks for coming to visit guys, loved meeting you and your DH Sundance, what a cute couple you are. And so many fun pets you have! And as always, good to see you Sphinx! We really do need to have a BYC bbq :)

Diana tried to do bunny ears then we thought doing chicken beaks was more appropriate. What a bunch of chicken geeks, huh?? Geez look at my face. I should shoot myself for posting this one. But if it makes you laugh......

Ah, but we love you, Lisa, and we're just as dorky!!!

I had such a marvelous time with Sundance, Jack (ha ha) and their menagerie. My kids want a Sphynx cat now too. And thanks for reminding me that my user name is misspelled. When I asked for the name change, they got the spelling wrong, and I decided it wasn't worth the battle to change it again, so I just tried to forget about it (very successfully, evidently).

So, great news! Sundance gave Thing 2 an injection of dex#$(&$^*@, and an injection of saline before we left. When we got back, Thing 2 was much, much perkier. He's walking around, clucking at me, and eating/drinking on his own. I had to put him in my big brooder tote because he was jumping out of the one my neighbor brought him in. Sundance DOES feel like this is an injury, not an illness, which is great news.

If he continues to improve at the rate he's going, I think he'll get to go back outside tomorrow, and be in the time out corner for a little bit.

Yay!! So happy for Thing2! Sundancen you are the best!
The pictures are so fun of you guys and Lisa you could never look dorky. You all look great! So fun putting faces to names. I agree on having a BBQ.

I have a pip!:D

on the pip! And I agree with the bbq thing, too! That would be such a blast.

Sphinx, I'm glad Thing 2 is doing better! Hooray! And hooray for awesome chicken friends

I still need to meet Sundancen and see some of her cats. I've yet to have the pleasure of seeing a sphinx cat in person. It would be nice to get to know their personalities.

Lisa, you do NOT look like a dork. You guys all look great. Me, on the other hand.....I do not do well with cameras................
