Cynthia, is Miss Piggy hanging in there? Awful when they start scaring us like that. So far everybody else looks healthy in my flock..no more colds..no more craziness. My little Polish are freezing their butts off so I hope they have built up enough of a resistance to cold to manage the next few days. It was windy this morning, I hope with the cold the wind settles down or it is going to be NASTY!

Blujems, how are yours so far? Mine are due Wed evening. I sure hope they make it. 3 eggs left, is it greedy to hope I get 2 at least so I do not have a lone chick? I am afraid if I think that I won't get any!

Sundance, oh, that poor puppy! He has had such a rough time with his leg, hasn't he? I'm glad he lives with you guys. Sorry that the decrowing didn't work. What a tricky brat to go without crowing for so long.

Delarooshens, I hope your New Year's hatch goes well. Your new egg sounds gorgeous.

I'm so annoyed with my birds. I had a friend's son who wanted to hatch chicks for a science project on genetics. I said that I'd be happy to give him a couple dozen eggs for hatching, and that it'd be easy to tell my eggs apart because my wellsummer, marans, lavender ameraucana, OE and polish all have distinctive eggs. Well, guess who took the week off?! So, I had all of my light brown layers and my legbar laying. The light brown eggs are nearly indecipherable for me, so it'll make the project tricky. I can't wait to hear how they turn out though.

Sundance, did you say you were coming down this way on Tues? Here is a picture of the boy ... for sure! Guess who crowed, for a good 15 min. this morning? Ha, he thinks he's all that, as young as he is, He is the one that now goes for my big black boots..he just fluffs up, looks down at them, kind of spreads his wings, but backs up while I am walking towards him. He has that crow down pretty good now for a beginner.
Did you still want him back. I got some good pictures of him today.

neck out to look up at you, and she was really curious about this
camera. Never have had a chicken this nosey/curious. I love her.

Yes I want him, Can you bring him to the clinic tomorrow. The orthopedic surgeon is going to pin and plate Jacques leg tomorrow. If the weather isn't too bad I', going to go down and be his surgical tech.

Ok, I know I'm a bit worried about what's coming weather wise. It's really windy here. I think something is coming. If I just head up, can I leave him there with someone? It's the vet's office right?
