Birds: I forgot to mention. I set my big fake owl right by my chicken feeder, and I haven't seen a small bird in the coop since. My chickens don't seem to mind the owl at all, but it's done a good job of scaring off the freeloaders. My feed consumption has dropped by a good 30%. I'm thrilled!
Sundance, I'm jealous of the Scottish connection. Going to Scotland is on my bucket list.
Cows: The cows are on my land. However, my next door neighbor also has a bit of land, and we've always just kept them open together, so the animals can just graze on both properties. In the past, it was just my neighbor's horses. That was fun- like grandhorses- all of the fun but none of the work. Now it's my cows and my neighbor leased out her land to a guy who is raising some cows.
Red, that's great news on the court date. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I love all the eggs you're getting. I'm terribly jealous. Mine get a heat/light lamp and I only have one or two laying.

The cold has lifted at least, thank goodness, hoping no more losses for anybody. I have a few girls that are going to have messed up combs, no losses so far other than the one trying to heal from my overzealous dog..sure hope it stays that way.
