I don't know what color they are supposed to be at hatch. One is yellow and the other one is brownish.

I had some time this afternoon, and found my camera yesterday! So I wanted to post how the showgirl (one of the three musketeers) is coming along. Any thoughts on gender guys? I sure hope she is a 'she'! The tail is getting awfully big and fluffy like my last one (boy).





This is her buddy, the Black sex link from Blujems eggs. She is a really sweet shy girl.

hmmm, I probably shouldn't say what I think. But I could be very very wrong!! A little more time will tell for sure.

I've never had show girls so don't have a clue! They don't look real. Cute!

Oh....and my polish are hatching! Two out so far. Two more with pips. The last egg was alive at lockdown but had the worst air cell of them all. Honestly, their air cells were so wobbly I didn't expect anything out of them. Now I hope that I don't end up with all boys.

you have some hatching too? I'm waiting on three barred rocks, that had bad air sacs, with the same thing, wobbly air sacs, and they went way up the side, but they were alive at lock down.

hmmm, I probably shouldn't say what I think.      But I could be very very wrong!!   A little more time will tell for sure. 

Oh no way!!! Really? I sold the two with those really wide combs, and kept this one that was narrow, but had bumps. It has little bumps like a pea comb so far. No waddles have come in, so I was hoping... I betcha i sold the two girls, and kept the boy (looking at the pics, I see how that comb is sitting up off the beak pretty high though, had not noticed this looking at it in person).....

Always say your mind, that is why I posted it girl!! Now you are gonna have me looking at showgirl hatching eggs again.

Pawtraitart--when I hatched crele babies for SashaT, (they were bantam crele wyandottes not polish), she had said the breeder had told her the black/dark ones at hatch were boys and the lighter were girls (I think, I might have it backwards...)?? It has been awhile, but it seems like the dark one that hatched was a boy, we only had one make it. Sasha if you are on here and I am wrong let us know, I have old squeaky wheels in my head that are barely turning these days

All these chicks are making me wish my homemade incubator worked. Oh well... does anyone have a pet duck or goose that needs rehoming? I've been missing my duck something awful.

Awwww! Don't be sorry, I need you guys to keep my head straight. When you want a girl bad enough, you start to see ( or not see in this case) weird things....lol Thanks for the input!

Cynthia, been surfing BYC for SG eggs. Do you remember who you got the eggs from that Maynard hatched from? They hatched last May or early June....that was a perfectly feathered bird, I wish I could find someone that has them. I might have to try again

I got to meet Sundance last night! It was so fun meeting her and her DH. Oh and their cute little dogs and those gorgeous cats! Pictures don't do justice on those cats. They are incredible. Diana brought me a surprise too.




Quail eggs and Serama eggs.

She isn't sure the Serama eggs are fertile but said to give them a try. So excited. We really enjoyed our visit with them.

by the way I'm still giggling over what to said to Sphinx when you ask her where she had been lately. I Love those girl scout cookies.

What a pleasure it was to meet aunt hattie and her husband, Her home is breathtaking. Really beautiful. I loved her back yard and her pool is to die for. I wanted to bag the cat show and just lay in the sun by the pool. Her chickens were so cute. really friendly. The momma hen with her baby was a trip. I'm here in LA. Its 80 degrees. very warm. And can you believe it. I forgot my shoes. All I had was my snow boots. yes they are gold sequin snow boots but boots just the same. What a great excuse to go shoe shopping in Las Vegas, I went shopping in St George but they didn't have what I wanted. Of course me being me. I just had to buy 2 pair of shoes. My DH just rolls his eyes, I'm staying at the hilton. You should have seen the japanese tourists in the lobby when I walked through with the bell man. I had 4 large cat cages on the trolly and 2 dogs on leashes. Too bad I didn't have the 4 chickens I'm getting on Sunday. of course dh had another bellman with the suitcases. tomorrow I'm going to site by the pool and drink Daqueries. We may go the the horse races at San anita.
