Utah!

Sasha these ducks are the sweetest things I've ever seen! They came running to the door of the crate this morning and had no complaints about me reaching in to gather the two eggs I saw.

I love them!

HI Joybells! We're so happy you love the duck-ducks. :) Their eggs are still a little small because they've only been laying a couple months, but they will start to get larger, shortly. :)

The last 2 days my broody has been pooping liquid. Just clear water and it stinks! I was giving her vitamins in her water. She seems OK except if she poops in the nest box she gets right up and trys to get someones attention. As soon as i clean it up she goes right back to her eggs. This is the first time this has happened with my broody's. I emptied the vitamin water and have gave her clean water no additives. Has anyone have any ideas as to whats going on here. Is it the vitamins?

I really think it is the vitamins. See how she is tomorrow without. Sounds like she doesn't like the stink any better than you! lol..

Hi Sasha!

Set any eggs yet?
Hi Cynthia! My bator is full! I just set up my styrofoam bator for the lockdown bator. I have 3 different hatches over the next 2 weeks. This Monday I will hopefully hatch my first 3 "homegrown" eggs from my 3 bantam cochins. I have 11 of 18 cochin eggs from Luckypickens still going strong, that will hatch about 5 days later. I have bantam Ameraucanas hatching about another 5 days after them. I'm thinking I will give the crele bantam wyandottes another go, now that I have a nice bator. ;) I guess I better get on the ball and order them!

Oh yes, and I have 7 Mille Fleur D'uccle eggs that are due to hatch the same day as the bantam Amers...but I'm not seeing air cells at all in about half of them, and the other half's air cells are tiny. So, I'm not counting on those to hatch, although they are developing very nicely. (8 were shipped, only 1 was infertile...from Indiana) If anyone is interested in them, I can put you on a list, but can't make any promises. I won't be keeping any myself, just hatching them for the heck of it!

Question Hatchers: Do eggs with floating detached air cells ever hatch? Those wheaten ameraucana eggs I got shipped are doing bad, there are just a few developing, and all have free floating air cells that float to the top when I turn them. So no matter what position for lockdown, they are going to have air cells straight up. Any advice?? I feel like the poor little squiggly babies are doomed, and there is nothing I can do, I almost hate to keep them going.

(Hi Sasha! hugs!)
