Big HELLO to everyone!!! I'm back!!!![]()
So much to tell. My re-homing of the flock turned into a nightmare of the greatest proportions, but which brought my babies back home and safe!!
Those 'wonderful, caring' people who offered to buy the entire breeding program flocks turned out to be newbie cock fighters.... a chicken owner (lovers) worst nightmare!!!![]()
They were all returned, finally, with the poor hens looking as if they hadn't been fed or watered the entire time (2 were so weak they couldn't walk and I lost one later that night!!)![]()
The roos were obviously getting prepared for razor spurs, but their feathers will grow back. Luckily, it was discovered BEFORE anything actually occurred!! WHEW!!
The husband has realized they are my babies, not just a hobby or business. When I was the one who mentioned divorce, he back pedaled, and even mentioned where we could find some white peafowl to go with my India Blues!!
More runs are going up to accommodate more poultry!!
Oh, happy day!!!![]()
Whew, glad you got some things straightened out there! Not just the chickens, but with the family situation. I am thinking that your hubby got the wake up call he needed. Too bad the D word had to be brought up. Hopefully he keeps his eyes open to your emotions and can see when you are in need of his back up when things go wrong with the kids. I have a mixed family. I remember my DH having to tell the kids to back off in the beginning. Teens. A lot of them. I won't say it was easy. But, I will say it was worth it now. We all get along, and they have told me a number of times that they are glad I came along when I did. They are married with their own now, and they are so good to me .. and dad of course. I love them, and their children. They are mine.
