Utah!

Yes Melissa is the same Melissa with Moonbaby. She was thrilled with the cochins and we want the calicos from you. I would take the free eggs and hatch them. After all they are free. We really enjoyed meeting you and your hubby. Next time perhaps we can all go to dinner.
Hi Sundancen...I've been oogling Melissa's Mini Aussies! They're so gorgeous. :) I'm glad she likes the Cochins! I got rid of my Calico Cochin rooster...he was absolutely horrible to his hens! So, until I get another calico/Mille Fleur roster, I won't have any pure hatching eggs. I do have a gorgeous bantam wyandotte roo out there with the cochins at the moment...but 2 of the 3 hens are broody...and should be hatching their eggs within the next week. So, they aren't laying anyway. But, after they do start laying again, if you'd like some Cochin/wyandotte (bantam) eggs to hatch, I'd be happy to send some your way!

AKA QCU Poultry.

Lisa, I have some pullets out of my golden cuckoo marans project pen that I can let go. I'm only keeping the ones that hatched out brown. There might be a couple extra olive egger pullets in addition to the ones you want as well but I have to be careful to not sell out of those because I'll need some to complete pullet orders later in the season when I have the other requested breeds available. Hopefully there are more girls among the younger babies I have yet to decide male/female.

Michelle! Do you happen to have any Calico/Mille Fleur Cochin cockerels available? I'm looking for a really nice one. :)

Hi Kambrie! Welcome to BYC! I'm just outside of Logan, in Hyrum.

Well, I had a HORRIBLE hatch. :( The one single crele bantam Wyandotte quit a day or two before hatching. Ugh!!! Anybody want a drop-dead gorgeous Crele Wyandotte bantam roo? He's super good with his girls.
The Mille Fleur & Mottled bantam cochin eggs I had shipped in that had hatched so well before...this batch I only had 2 of 12 hatch. We did lose power during the 2nd week for a few hours and the temp dropped in the bator to 78*. I didn't think it would be enough to kill them...and the only other thing I can think of is that with shipped eggs, I've always put them into lock down upright in egg cartons...this time, I laid them on their sides. But then they were SHIPPED eggs, after all. :( I had 1 blue mottled and 1 black mottled hatch. The black mottled didn't make it.

My daughter and I are going to Wisconsin this Thursday, and will return Monday...I'll be ordering more eggs of SOME kind then.
Oh yes...and at 3 weeks of age, my 2 new bantam wheaten Ameraucana chicks are both looking like girls. I'd normally be thrilled, but I do need a boy to go with the two pullets I already have! LOL! So, I'll probably order more of those.

Oh yes...and I LOVE everyone's pictures!

Ask Cynthia if she wants to part with Henry, the calico bantam cochin roo going to Chickenstock. He's the only extra one I have at the moment. :)
Oh, Cynthia! Are you suppose to be getting a calico cochin roo? Do you want to part with him? If not, it's OK, I'll just keep waiting....or order some more eggs.

I blame Cynthia, she said she ordered chicks, and I had not thought about doing it again until she posted that. Chick shipment envy.

Ha, Lisa, we switched. You mention how nice the Houdans are, I order. You see my cute little NN's, you order. Too bad we aren't closer. I have more NN's coming. They seem easy to place! I hope that keeps up for my next hatched ones. I am pretty darn sure that brown one is a roo already, and not by the feathering. That boy has long legs, stands like a boy, and acts like a boy already. I wish I could see him grown. He's going up by Richfield, so I just may get to see pictures of him on fb, I am friends with the guy taking him.

Sorry Sasha

I know how that goes. I checked my shipped Icelandic eggs last night. Out of the 16 I got, one is alive and developing. I'm starting to think it's my incubator. That lousy thing fluctuates so much in temperature, even when the temps in the house are fairly steady and no one's messing with the bator

Lousy waste of perfectly good eggs.

Welcome, Kambrie!

I got to see our friend Jed again today. He went home with a turkey egg (non-fertile) Jed, let me know how you like it!

Well, I made it through another tax season!! Yayaya! It's over and life can resume. I am getting LASIK this Friday to celebrate. I got more marans eggs today. They seem to be in good shape despite the top of the box being smashed  I also have some lav ams on their way. I need to get my pens set up pretty quick. I am hoping to come up with a quick easy design. I like my coop right now (LOVE it), but it took a long time to put together. I am ready to get these chicks out of the house. I am thinking about putting the bigger ones in with the big girls outside, but not sure to do about the food issue (chick feed vs. layer pellets). Ah well, time to get life moving agai. Garden time too!! Sorry for the rambling post here...
