Utah!

My eggs i got from Sphinx are hatching! 3 out of twelve so far.  2 more peeping. They are all mixed breed. I don't have a separate house for her so I'm thinking i might just leave her with the rest of the flock. I am going to change the straw on the floor of the coop tomorrow so she can nest there with her chicks. She is an Australorp with an attitude and higher up on the pecking order so i think she will be OK. Ill try and get pictures tomorrow after the hatching.
that's awesome! Hopefully you get all 12 to hatch! I'm going to start hatching eggs once I get settled into my new place.

Nope, I got my hair did. Like this. :)

Can anyone recommend a veterinarian for  my chickens. One of the girl not acting like normal and comb has change to a grayish red.

Keep us posted on how she is doing. Poor thing.

Well....one of the new girls finally laid yesterday.

I'm certain it was one of the Wheatens......tiny green egg no bigger than a quail egg.

Pretty sure the Houdan ain't gonna have one like that!

Yay! Im hoping I get a new egger soon. I have three I got the end of March so they are getting to that age.

I'm excited to have those girls! They always catch my eye when I'm over at your place Cynthia. I am only getting chickens from a few people on here, I want to do it right and don't want anymore sick chickens. I know you all take great care of your flocks.

Desert, ill let you knkw when im all moved in and ready to buy some of your chicks from you. It should be no longer then a week after the first.

Brian, if you go up to see Desert can I talk you into brining me back a welsummer or two? That is of course if Desert has extra and you don't mind being a chicken train.

Yes we gotta see those babies. Hopefully you get a good hatch.

I was told that NN are some of the best layers and they longer than normal hens.  That is why they are so popular.  They lay until age 5 or6

That's very good to know. :)

Gonna go out and clean out my coop today. It's such a pain because I have to crouch in it. Its about 5' tall. I can feel my back ache already lol. Meh maybe I'll just sit on a bucket and rake.

Brandi has the most beautiful Marans Rooster and hen! She needs them gone. This is the best picture she got of him and her..the other two need to go too. Thinking that is a Delaware, and a sex link. The roo had made them featherless in certain areas. :p That rooster is gorgeous! The hen has great body type.

What kind of Marans is that rooster supposed to be?? He is pretty, for sure!
