just went outside to collect eggs, and Sheriff is laying again! I haven't had a colored egg since the middle of November. So happy to have a colored egg I had to share

Sorry about your eggs Karen. I was so hoping those 2 eggs hatched for you. But this is a learning experience and i bet the next hatch you will get results. I say load the incubator up full and give it another try. Sphinx has some good fertile eggs and they are all LF. I got a dozen eggs from her in the summer and 9 hatched. I would get some from Red too. Just remember you don't have to keep the chicks, just the ones you want. Chicks are easy to get rid of as long as they are chicks and the sex is unknown. Just don't wait to long like my and have to find home for your roosters.

Oh ya did i mention i have 4 roosters for free! Anyone....?

Thanks Gary, the issue is finding a bunch of eggs now. Well we are getting some Silkies eggs on Monday afternoon from my friends neighbor and if they hatch she already wants a few. I would love to find a bunch more to through in there with them, but I don't want to buy shipped eggs since I need to still figure out what we did wrong. I PM'd Red and told her I will be in Salt Lake tomorrow morning. I have to go to the Airport, and I told her I could bring eggs back down for you too, but I haven't heard back from her.

I still have them in the incubator, but I'm sure they won't hatch. Oh well. We are going to try again.

Lisa, my battery is being charged. Will get some photos up later. The one with the puffiest face is the Silver chipmunk. Aren't those usually male? It's soo pretty in it's coloring. There are two that look alike, and one that is more red. I like that one too..Not sure of how puffy these are.
I just had a BO egg pip..on day 19. Little stink..on the wrong end. So, snatched it out since it's so early. I cleared the beak, and it gets to hang out. Won't bother it any more until later tonight. Did I say..Little Stink! It's a big egg too..hope none of the others do this. :/

Here ya go Lisa....only one has a real puffy face..the pretty silver one. I have a favorite though. EE's..they change a lot as they grow.

This one above is my favorite. Not a good photo, she started to blink with her inner eye lid..she has a real sweet face though.
This little black and red one has a bit of beard going on.

Silly, if I'd known you were going to be in the SLC area, I would've left some eggs at my grandma's house in Taylorsville for you to stock your incubator with. I'm still crushed that your hatch didn't work out. I want to hug both you and your daughter.

Only one egg hatched. Hopefully the mama can keep it warm. I will have to go out and change the house's around a little bit tomorrow. Swap water's between coops. I will also move the new mama to the A-Frame and move Skittles, and her 2 6 week old cfhicks out of the A-Frame and into the grow-out coop. I am going to move Momo into the grow out coop also. i think she will be ok since she will be sitting on eggs and Skittles wont see her as a threat to her chicks since they are older and Momo will just be happy setting and not fighting.
