This is Leland the Blue Langshan and he's 5 months old, stands 2 feet, very gentle with his hens, kids and adults. He lives with 9 hens, 2 German shorthairs and 1 cats so he's not afraid of much. We can't keep him as his voice makes a neighbor irritated. He's actually pretty quiet, not crowing until around 8am if he crows at all. He's pretty special to us so if you or anyone you know is interested please PM me. His adoption is free. Thank you.

Oh Boy. I don't know about this posting our birds, I am getting close to figuring out what is what but here goes....Ditto what Ipick said about the numbers getting real when we put them in writing!!

What is it that gets all your birds, Red? Animal predators?

Danged if we can figure it out. My field cam shuts itself off when it pleases and my computer is on the fritz, anyway, so getting pictures downloaded is a joke. We have the run fenced in but most of our birds can fly pretty high, even with clipped wings. We keep randomly finding the run open, too, and I know that at least some of it is the birds pushing against the gate and forcing it open. What I don't understand is why we always lose hens and pullets and never roosters. That part is kind of funny, in a morbid way.

Red, I have to say those icelandics are so determined to escape! Lagertha is always the first one at the coop door when I open it, and she hops out constantly and heads to the trees, very hard to capture. I totally see what you have been saying about how different their demeanor is, very beautiful but kind of a wild element haha! She keeps us highly entertained. We have had to go over the fence a few times, I feel like she needs an aviary and wants to be up higher than she can get in the run we have. Very small too, her body type is a lot like my white faced Black Spanish, long legged and very agile.

Sorry Lisa, haha. They are well known for being escape artists. I have had to bag my hens and roosters so many times in the neighbor's yard, I've lost count :/ They're quite intelligent, though. And they never let anything edible go to waste! I'm glad you guys are enjoying Gertie She was very sweet once she learned she could sit on my lap without being eaten, hahaha

I didn't realize the WFBS were small like that?

i would love to see more cream legbar breeders around. they have long been at the top of my wishlist. i am sure i drive people nuts talking about it lol. its just when i am looking for chicks i cant find them and of course when its a bad time to get some some come up for sale lol. i also want some black copper marans

Is anyone traveling to southern Utah (harmony)from SLC? My Langshan Roo has a home but due to a broken elbow there is no driving for his potential owner.
