thanks. i just talked to the people at tomsic and they have it for a great price but i checked my bank account and sand will have to wait a month or two.

I like the sand too. I go to Home Depot..in Provo. My husband and I were just talking about getting some more..the play ground sand, not the smallest sand, but the next step up..we were thinking it was close to $3.00. I just buy a couple of bags here and there, but, you are probably one of those lucky people that has this huge piece of property, and a nice big coop. I have a backyard thing going on, but I can't complain about the coop my hubby built for me. I can house 8 birds easy. Right now they are mostly pullets, with me just a waitin on them to start laying. I have a black sex link that I think will start this month. She's had a black comb all along, just figured that's what it would be, but it is starting to look a bit pink, plus, I'm seeing black feathers in the nest boxes. I think she's checking them out. :p

well its not that i have a huge yard, i just make use of the space. i do not want to buy it by the bag because that would cost a lot more. i can get a cubic yard of sand for $55 and have them load my trailer. i want a good 4 inch layer of sand in the run

It's official. My Buff Orpington is a roo. He's getting his waddle. Just barely. He's a good little guy. Isn't aggressive and I don't think he knows he's a roo.

So now what do I do? I can't keep him where we are. Do I try and trade him, sale him or just give him away? I would like him to go to a nice home.

He's about 5 weeks? He is my 7yr olds so now I have to find a chick for him. He would like colorful eggs so an EE would be nice. A barred rock or plymouth rock would be nice.

Are my other chicks going to stress when they loose their liter mate? How will they be with introducing a new chick? How do you introduce a new chick? Go with the same size/age?

We have had no pecking or aggressiveness with any of these chicks.

I've heard some mention Sunny brooke to get chickens from but I've also heard they have had disease and illness. Is there other places around within an hours drive of West Jordan that has chickens?

Thank you.

I guess I need to look furture out because around my area I'm only seeing sunny brook farm and a few that want to sell a group of chickens most of which are grown. Maybe I need to put in 50 miles out?

An hour from west Jordan can get you to most of the wasatch front. There is a lady in Pleasant Grove, Ive seen ads from Lehi, Sandy, Davis County, etc. Just search for pullet and you'll get a lot of hits.
