OH! I gorfot about the Fair - hope I can make it this weekend. Last year we went early on and the chickens weren't even there yet. Were there chickens there still?

Glad your were able to help your leghorn. Broken nail? Kinda funny...a girl thing, shows you got a true hen.. "I just broke a nail!"...

there were only 3 chickens there. i actually got a flemish giant mix and she is so sweet. a few years ago i had a pure breed flemish and loved him. when i saw this girl it was love at first sight. she loves to lick me

my hen that broke the nail scared me for sure, i walked in and see blood all over and 3 leghorns covered in blood and i did not know what girl was bleeding and from where. it was bad but she is doing well. she lost so much blood i do not know how she is alive but i am so happy she is!

well keeping the rabbit with the girls is going better than expected. at first the girls would do an alarm call when she would move but now they are fine with each other. they respect each others space but will also sit close and talk. the rabbit sleeps under the poop board at night. she will also sit in the nest box that i have on the ground and will sometimes leave her own eggs but it has not been too bad. the girls love the rabbit food so i am trying to get them to only eat it when i throw it to them. so yeah there are a few issues but they are no big deal. it is working so well

That's great the rabbit's getting along! My first rabbit as a little girl was a white giant flemish, and unknown preggers. I let her out in the yard and she went all over the place. Made my mom mad tho when she ate her tomato plants to the ground. oops... bunnies are fun.

My prolapsed girl turned to normal "back there" and was obviously not going to lay in her cage. So after weeks of no antibotics, etc. I put her back in the coop and will just keep an eye on her. No way to tell if she's ever laid an egg, unless there's problems - she looks identical to her 3 sisters...

I never did hear from the young man with the black silkie roo. Maybe he found a way to keep him.

I've been selling my extra eggs for $3/dz and it was not worth the time (and certainly not making money), so I up'd the price to $4.50. Thought I'd lose what few buyers I had but didn't, even gained one!

Not making money, but sure helps to pay for produce & healthy treats to the ones I can't free range much.

For those of you who sell eggs - How much do you charge? Do you supply carton? Do you have regular customers or put sign out?

So far I have been giving mine to friends, but a little help toward cost of feed might help.

they said my rabbit is a flemish/chin mix and she is sooo sweet! my last rabbit was a pure breed flemish male and he was amazing. he did eat everything in sight too so that may be why he was so big. it took some time for me to want another rabbit but when me and my mother went to the fair i feel in love with her and so did my mom. i wish i could add a picture on here but i do not have a way to. elk mtn its good to hear your prolapse girl is doing well

i hope the guy with the silkie roo found a good home for him or if he could keep him its even better. so did anyone who went to the fair see the guy with geese? he had them walking around in little coats feeding them fair food and mtn dew and was telling little kids that junk food is good for you and if their parents say different they are lieing.... a few of the dads were mad and nearly cleaned his clock. i thought it was odd and i feel bad for the geese.
