I would! If you want a copy of my receipt, let me know, I could email it to you if that would help. You could try calling the Logan store (the number on that link) and getting a quote and the name of the person too:)

Cynthia--a pip! Ecxiting! Let's go blue eggs....they have to make it :bow

ETA----My Broody girl is off the nest! Yay!!!! I cannot believe she moved. This is funny...I went out today, got an egg out from under her, she made her usual fuss, but then I dropped it on the coop floor by accident and it broke. She jumped up on the edge of the nest and looked down and was seriously squealing, jumping up and down, having a total meltdown. I wonder if it made her so discouraged she gave up. Poor thing I actually felt really bad for her (even though it was quite funny to watch). I felt like she was saying "You idiot! Look what you have done!!"

Thanks! Here's what she's picked out:
Buff Orpington named Lucy
Barred Rock named Ethel
Brahma named Flo
Wyandotte named Alice

Actually, she originally came up with Lucy, Ethel, Flo, and Bessie. We told her that Bessie was a good cow name and steered her (no pun intended) to Alice. She already had one classic TV funny gal duo, so we thought we'd go for the daily double. She had a blast looking through photos of all the different breeds. Anybody have any suggestions on where to get these particular chicks?
I'm actually going to have some of these hatch pretty quick. Buff Orpingtons..I have some Silver Laced Wyondottes coming in mid March..all will be pullets. :)

Oh dear! That's funny, in a sad way. Poor mama hen.
I'm not really sure about these eggs. The Ameraucana eggs are so dark, you can't see to much when you go into lock down. I usually have more pips by now on the day before. Oh well, we shall see. I flashed the light on the one pipped, saw the little piece of egg move.
I also have the other EE's in lock down now, there are some real pretty blue eggs in there too.
The gal I bought the Araucana eggs, completely forgot that I had ordered from her to mail my eggs out on Mon. the 13th. I emailed her because I didn't see any tracking number yet by the end of yesterday. She had forgotten. So, she mailed them out today..with ten extra! I will get 24 eggs. That should give me a better chance of getting some babies! The Araucanas..hard to hatch.

Lisa, that IS funny about the whole broody bit. I guess now we know a new way to get a broody off the nest, eh?

Cynthia - you're going to be overrun with babies! Good luck with all the hatching.

Finally! My Meyer Hatchery order was confirmed, I have 26 Assorted Rare Egg Layer Females, and 1 free Meyer Meal Maker Pullet, arriving March 3rd-March 8th. This is my first time ordering from a Hatchery! I'm super excited and cannot wait to see what they gave me!

Hector, the chicks are doing well. They were quite loud and worried when I first picked them up from you, but after a couple of minutes they settled down and just chatted in their box while I was driving (I had the box in my lap) Once I got them into the brooder, they went to town scratching through the pine shavings I had in there for them. I love my little cheep cheeps

Drink time!

I haven't picked out names for them yet, but I asked on here and some fellow BYC'ers seem to think that the little white one is a Delaware, which is what I wondered when I saw her in person. I wish I could have gotten her sister! I only had so much money on me. Bah.

Also, that white one has adopted the EE as her new sister. If I take the EE out of the brooder for a few seconds, the white one starts crying because she doesn't know where the other one went. I'm trying to help them get used to being handled by me so that they're more comfortable at their new home.

It was kind of funny - my hens started hanging out around the shed where I've got the brooder locked up the morning after I brought the chicks home. They keep trying to get a peek at the little ones, especially my Marans hen. I think she's getting broody.

Oh yeah, and First Hatchery Order Evar for Hector! W00t!
