Thanks for the offer Phoenix! Hoping I will have 10 by Saturday, should be plenty. I have a neighbor who would take 6 and I doubt I will get that many to hatch, if any........I am pretty worried I will mess it up :/

Warning---picture overload coming.
I got 2 little polish picked out for my son----a black with white crest, and a blue---cute little things!!
"Frisco"

Quite the little hat on that one!

Thanks Cynthia! They are fun for sure, the hats are adorable. I looked for pointies like you said, but I have to tell you the IFA gal I was dealing with would not let me touch them or hold them or even hardly look them over, so it was hard to see while they were running around. I appreciated it though, I know they had not gotten overhandled by little children. They say 80%-ish are female---highly doubt that----sounds more like a sales pitch--They seem really healthy....just arrived this afternoon at the store, and they are chowing down and drinking really well. That light one is a blue---and it is so hyper, reminds me of the lavs when they were teeny. Runs and jumps all over, I am wondering if it might accidentally be a bantam, I hope not but it is awfully tiny compared to the other one and the sexlinks. I did not realize this until we got them home.

Crossing fingers for girls. That is why I broke down and got 2. (Like it takes much to break me down these days).

You have some chicks due this weekend don't you? What is on the menu? :p

Those Polish are so dang cute!!! Are they LF or bantam? Thanks for everyones help. I am grateful I don't have to get up in the night to turn them. Although, I may be doing that anyway. I'm so stressed about the temperature flucuations. At one point I checked and it had gone to 104 so I raised the lid to let heat out quickly. I check it every 10 minutes so it couldn't have even been for 5 minute at that temp. UGH! I just turned them and now the temp is at 95. Does the temp have to be a constant 102 for a still air?
Have I ruined these little babies? I know I will be up all night checking.

You have the little red knob right? You barely, and I mean barely tweak that little knob to get the temp to move. Best to have it where you know it will be lower than norm, than higher than norm at night. I have one, it was my first bator too. I was always having to tweak the temp. I finally found that putting it where it fluctuated between 99 and 101 was the best. Trying to get those to stay right spot on, is pretty hard, but it worked for me doing it that way. You will do fine. Just don't let it get to the 102 and you will be fine. Humidity is easy on those, just put the water in the place it goes, and let it be until you see it get into the high 30's, then fill the water again. I don't worry much about humidity until lock down.

My husband is loving on those baby goats. I thought he was going to get one on the spot when we were out there...he has been trying to talk himself out of it all week, he really likes the white one because it was rubbing her head on his leg. I think I will opt out of sharing these photos with him lol.

Very cute!

I have BBS Ameraucanas, and LF Cochins to hatch this next week.
I went to listen and take a peek under Baily today, she growled at me for the first time. I saw an egg..it had pipped! She was up off of them this morning, and I didn't see anything, but did this afternoon. I am expecting a baby or two under her tomorrow. They are the same eggs I got those extra fluffy ones from. Hope I get more of those.
My Silkies are due on the 25th, have to say, pretty excited to see them. First time I've hatched them. I've hatched Polish. I have some pictures somewhere. Will look for them tomorrow. They do have pretty fun little top hats going on.
Got all of the ones I wanted sold from the hatchery sold. Plus, one from outside. This woman can have roosters, so she didn't mind too much what she was getting, she doesn't want a whole lot of roosters, but her son wants one that will be his in the bringing up. I sold her an Araucana that I think may be a cockeral. That should be fun for him.
Well, hope you can get some sleep tonight..you will want to keep peeking in on the newbies. :))

Cynthia thanks for the help on the temperature and humidity. I think I finally have it between 99 to 101. I know I will be checking them through the night though.
I can't keep track of all the chicks you have! You are having way to much fun. Thanks again. I can't wait to see your Silkies!
