Hahaha I didn't know you could have to many silkies!

Cynthia so all I really needed was an on the ball neighbor. Darn I didn't have one of those but they do let me have chickens so I'll be happy with that.
So good news! I have a pip.

Cynthia wonderful pictures. It is such a great time in life. Our daughter didn't get any leis. We didn't know they were such a big thing at graduations. There were some kids that had like 6 or 7 on them. Oops major parent fail!

thebirdguy- I'm heading to your town Idaho Falls. Thats where I grew up. My mother still lives there and other family members. My sister is there and she is the one I am bringing the chicks too. She has her coop ready and is excited to start raising chickens.

Whittni love your chickens. Where did you get your silkies from?
Does your sister want to swap a couple? LOL then she could have more different kinds!!

Your quote didn't show up (am I the only one having that problem?), but congrats on the handsome grad laden with money!

My son wants zero to do with graduation. My oldest (now 30+) graduated early and promptly joined the Air Force so I missed that celebration (did hold a send-off party). 18-y/o is college bound and hates HS so I wont' be attending anything this yr. One more chance with the daughter but it's a couple years off.

So congrats!! Good lookin boy and best wishes! Even him having a chicken-mom and all.

I would have loved to have your meanie lav (thank you for offer) but my girls are free ranging and I'm loosing some to predators (no matter how much we try to protect them!) - I'd hate to lose a lav! I'm still trying to convince the DH to order meat birds with just a few pullets to cover loss. We'll see, he's not gung-ho.

The three chicks (2 fm broody and a red sexlink from Cal Ranch) are best buds. There are more eggs under Mrs. Meanie (again daughter's doing). She put a broody buff orp in there and we found an egg stolen fm Mrs. Meanie and eaten (leaving shell). Buff is now alone and if she shows more egg eating she will be going to freezer camp.

Hope everyone's wkend's better weather than planned. Sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on all posts!

So this is funny, Auntie Hattie and I have been chatting, we have some related family from Idaho Falls. Her mom went to school with my two grandmas it sounds like in Shelley, a teeny town up there. Small world huh! I told her I will now call her cousin. lol We are teasing we must have crazy chicken farmer ancestors that gave us this hereditary chicken bug. Had to share this, it is just way great to find little connections like that from two people talking on a pc who have never met.

I have 2 BLRW chicks left if anybody is interested. I was hoping to have them sold before my hatch this weekend so if anybody on here wants one let me know. Auntie Hattie if your sis wants a BLRW let me know :) Or Birdguy :)

That's so awesome! It's sure a small world, isn't it?
I'm trying to talk Howard into another Polish. I could stick it in with my newly hatched chicks (that I put into lockdown this afternoon.)

I want a WC chocolate so bad! But I'd take any of the possibilities. If I can talk Howard into it, I'll let you know soon!

Oh, congrats on the graduates! I love the lei you made, Cynthia! That is really great.

Congratulations on your pip, Aunt Hattie!!

I think before school tomorrow, I'll go in and candle my eggs and possibly toss out the one that I think died. That will leave me with 3 eggs, and one of those has been too dark to see inside, so who knows if it's even alive.

This week has just really worn me out, but the weekend promises to be even crazier. I showed houses to a new client, looked for houses for two different clients, and had several showings on my listing. In addition, I have someone who wants to list, but it would be a short sale, so it's a tough situation.

In addition to that, I've had two field trips, a preschool graduation, an orchestra concert, band concert, school bbq, scout meeting, orthodontist appt, and a medieval feast. I let myself be talked into sewing twelve quilt squares for my girl scout service unit leader for some exchange she's going to at a national convention next week. Oh, and I tiled my firepit. DH is in Germany til Saturday.

Sphinx-accidentally became a doTerra rep? LOL :) I learn more and more, but I've gotten to be pretty comfortable with knowing what's needed for whatever the ailment is.

BluJems-do research it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I also have an awesome book you can borrow to read if you'd like.

Now, our news! Howard got our coop done today! Needs paint and ramps, but otherwise is done.

So our chickens are in their new coop tonight. I just went out with the flashlight to check on them. Elvis (GLP) and Hedwig (Wheaten Amer.) were cuddled up on the roost. The rest of them were on the floor. Hopefully it won't take the rest of them long to figure out the roost.

Edit-I didn't put my 2 cochin bantams out there yet. They are still getting feathers on their heads, and I must admit, they are a bit favored, so I didn't want to stick them outside in the coop yet.

But they are outside in the "work shop" with a lightbulb hanging over them. Figured I'd break them into the cold slowly.

Two of my cousins and their families made it here today from Wisconsin. :) My parents and a brother will be arriving tomorrow.

Family reunion on Saturday afternoon, but it's looking like cold and rainy.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend, rain or shine.

Oh man I really need everyone crossing their fingers that I have a good hatch. Lol ! I love Polish chickens! They are the sweetest and they have beautiful creamy colored eggs too. Love them.

Thebirdguy I will gladly ask my sister. She went to Chickenstock and won some eggs so she will have even more breeds to trade within a month or so.

Lisa this has been too fun seeing the connection in our families. It will be fun meeting you. I'll talk to my sister and see if she would like a couple of BLRW's too. She is just starting her little flock so I think she will be happy to try different breeds to see what she likes. I should just get her on here. Let her get caught up in this never ending addiction of wanting more and more chickens. ( and more and more and......):D

SashaT it would really be fun if one hatches a WC chocolate!
