Utah!

Lisa - I've seen that, to some extent. Steve would stand between me and the girls when they were small enough to be in the brooder. And according to that rule, I think it's a good sign
smile.png
Because both the Welsummer I got for my mom and this little EE run laps when I get anywhere near them. No joke.

Moriah - This is such a fun, relaxed place to hang out. I agree with you on that. I have visited other threads and have yet to find a place that is as inviting as this one. I was kind of nervous when I first jumped in here, but now it just feels like a big bunch of good friends.

psht! It IS a bunch of good friends! I love me some Utah BYC :)

Moriah that was a very very sweet post :D and yes my chicken shuttle makes sense in my head lol but probably nowhere else :D

And on that happy note, g'nite all :th I am headed on the chicken shuttle to Paul Idaho tomorrow so I better get some sleep it will be a late night :)

Daloorashens, I am not meeting Hattie on her way through, I will be gone. I was going to ask if you would want to get my polish from her in IF then when I come up we could trade
big_smile.png
You could love my babies for a couple weeks while I am loving your babies here for a few weeks then we trade haha
smile.png
If not I could have family meet her up there.
OR I might be able to meet Hattie on her way back through if it is the 9th or later...... OR---not sure if Sasha wants to meet Hattie to get hers, at Tremonton......then maybe mine could come back with her......haha scamming on a chicken shuttle here.......then I could bring yours Daloorashens to IF......I think I am coming on the 14 or 15th. Then I can take Birdguy his (if they hatch
smile.png
) Does any of that make sense lol!
Scott Reed----so if you are saying yes to all of us who have roosters what on EARTH are you going to do with them? Mine is for sale right now only to someone who wants to breed him, not to someone who wants to eat him. He is way to nice for that
roll.png
Ok so I have to ask how old you are.......
Lisa, you're crazy....and I love it!

I'd be more than happy to keep your Polish babies here with mine until you get back. I'm planning on meeting Hattie wherever is convenient for her on her way through our area.

Because you pm'd me about your mom wanting you to ask me questions:) And gave out your number. Most people don't do that so fast! Just making sure you were over 18. No offense, I could not read/understand some of your posts either, you must have been typing faaaast
smile.png

I was way off
smile.png

Scott, I will call you tomorrow about the rooster
smile.png
LOL! Don't feel bad, Scott. Lisa had guessed way off on my age too, before she met me.

Red, a guy that came to buy chickens once said when you stick your hand in the brooder the roosters will often run up to your hand almost defensively and the girls will scatter. Have tested it a little, sometimes I can see it but not very often, so I do not know if it really works....

I think it has a lot to do with the breed itself, as well. My big girls (Wyandottes, Ameraucana) will only run up to me if they think I have a treat, or if it's time to "go to bed". My Cochin girls will run up to me EVERY time. Sweet little things. :) Rocco used to run up to me every time I stepped outside too, but since I noticed he started getting his big boy hormones, he avoids me instead.

We were talking awhile back about egg collection baskets? Here is a link, there are two pictures you can click on, the bigger one looks a lot like my cute basket Sasha gifted me, if anybody is still looking for one:) The smaller one is a nice color too

Hey, that basket does look a lot like the one I gave you. :) Have you finished the sign for it yet?
Sphinx - You are GOOD keeping track of all that!
I wanted to thank all you guys for being so fun and informative. I follow a few threads and find myself saving this one for last, like the best bite of prime rib roast, or the last bite of pie that has filling and sugar on the crust. I don't think I'll ever be able to follow Lisa's shuttle strategy - but I know it must make sense, and I'll never hear Cynthia say anything that's not sweet and positive. It's neat the support you all give each other. Thanks for sharing.
Couldn't agree more, Moriah. :)

La Casa de Pollo &Sasha to be honest i do type funny lol but i dont mind people guessing my age and i am very nice to people just the way i was brought up and i have also learned that if i make the first move at times then i tend to get a better response

Sasha, that would be awesome if you could pick up my Polish with yours! Awesome I say! AND a reason to visit a chicken friend, hooray!!!

From Cindy after work......so then I will come to you the next night affter work or whenever it works for you after that ok? You are awesome thanks so much :) Oh ya and a possible possible showgirl from Cynthia.:D :D

Nice is good :) lol sorry about the age thing, I did think Sasha was about your age.....and she was closer to my age! She looks crazy young, more like a sister to those daughters, not a MOM! And her voice is very young too. I still had her age wrong AFTER I met her lol!

So I think I have this straight----
1. Pickup chickens in Paul today for me and Daloorashens and Blujems
2. Take chickens to Blujems late tonight or tomorrow if it is too late on the drive back...
3. Eggs to Blujems on July 2
4. Pickup chicks from Blujems July 9
5. Meet Sasha to pickup chicks July 10 or after
6. July 14 or 15 take Daloorashens her chickens, and Chicks to Birdguy in I.F.
7. Marans chick 'Chuck" and Blue wheaten chick to blujems as soon as the gender is 100 percent sure....

Whew if I am forgetting somebody speak up here! If any other chickens need a ride back from Birdguys or anywhere else on my trip holler :)

Sad day for me. This morning one of our silkies did his first attempt at a crow.

These chickens are our pets and we live in the city so we can't keep him. I am so worried about trying to rehome him and have him go somewhere bad.
