for a feather to develop it has to have a blood source so at the blood feather stage its like a straw sticking in a vane so that is a huge danger because if it were to break and still have a part in the vane it can kill the bird due to bleeding to death. so knowing how to remove a blood feather is a must because you may have to do it if the bird cant do it its self. as the feather grows it will not be a blood feather and you will be safe. at the blood feather stage it will be very tender and itchy and you want to be careful when handling a bird with blood feathers.![]()
