Aww, I know that mama is glad you are staying home to help her out. :) I like that blue one..is that the color you call it? I used to raise Persians, I think I told you that..that color was called blue. She/he is a bi color..pretty nice.

Real quick-just in case someone decides they want my roosters...(LOL) I managed to place both the Cochin and the Polish cuckoo roo, yesterday and today. :)

So they aren't available for Lisa's chicken shuttle to Idaho this weekend.

I'll reply to posts a little later, and post some fun pictures as well. :)

To catch mine in a pinch, I shake the Happy Hen mealyworm bag and they come running, like a stampede haha Once they have had a little snack and figure out what is in that bag they see the bag and get really wound up trying to get at it. They will follow me all over, right into the run, throw a couple on the ground in there that should work. Bread crumbs work really well too, like Cynthia said.

Ok, DH and I have been hashing it out and the two top places we are looking at are Sandy and American Fork. Anyone on the ground have any observations or recommendations between the two? We are looking at doing a mini vacation in the next few months to scope out the areas but some things you can only learn from really living it.

out of the two i would go for american fork :)

I personally would go for Sandy, but I hate Utah County traffic with a white hot passion, even more than I hate running.

Joybells, I am sure I'll be coming to Ephraim again sometime this summer. When my plans are more cemented, I'll post here. I know I dropped off a sweet little cockerel to a gal in Moroni last time I was down.

Hey Sasha/Hattie----one of the two little polish looks quite blue today. Of course it is the one that looks the most girly (that is the color we have already when my son first attempted to get black haha). The other still looks black so far. A bit boy looking but I was dead wrong the last time so I am crossing fingers it is a 'chick' ..... help me out and send some happy black vibes this way!

Hattie--you surviving the heat with your girls?

***I would go for American Fork. Or Logan :)

Me too! American Fork..close to Pleasant Grove, and has some nice land outside the city area for chickens!

Shinx, I think the traffic will get a 100% better once that remodeling of the freeway gets done. Trust me, we can hardly wait down this way. Most of it is supposed to be done this fall...Oh I hope, before the holidays would be nice!

Ok, so I have a dumb question..and I don't want to go to the Polish site, but I will be, to check some things out, but I want to know right now..you hear me Lisa? Here goes..are Polish like Silkies...all bantams..or are there LF Polish. I just can't get over that cute one you just placed. I am going to do more Polish eggs, it's bee a while, I just can't remember if they are considered bantam, I do remember them being small though. I had a blue with the white top. A man came down all the way from Idaho for him, because he had been watching for one to go with his blue. The ones I'm going to hatch are crele, brown, and something else different. I like different. :p I remember thinking of them like a leghorn personality, flighty, not as friendly as some hens, but I don't mind, these crele are really pretty. I'll see if I can get pictures of them, they are on their way! So, like bantams?
Just remembered, barred and cuckoo too.

These are the birds my eggs are coming from. They look bigger than the picture
that you showed Lisa. Or was that someone else? Is this the barred?

Wonder what that color is..the lighter one? I want the first color above, or the orange one. :) Guessing
a barred baby on the right.

So funny he's kind of cute.

Ooo, this one..

This must be what that baby above is going to look like. Is this the cuckoo?

If I HAD to choose between American fork and sandy, I would pick sandy. But I honestly would have a hard time living anywhere other than summit county in the Park City area.
