Utah!

My page is messed up too, half the time the pics show up, the rest of the time says "pic not available" then you click and it shows up. I think there are some glitches that need to be worked out :)

Cynthia, good luck on your hatch! I lov eyour silkie egg, it seems really good sized!
I checked out my polish babies from you this morning, here is what seems to be going on: 1 Silver laced girl non bearded, 1 SL boy, bearded...1 Buff laced boy bearded, 1 buff laced girl bearded (and it is my favorite!! yay!!), 1 black crested girl non bearded, and the other 'black crested' is looking to be blue crested. very blue, non-bearded....and possibly girl. At first I was sure that thick black headed one was a boy, but the feathers are coming in very wide I would be surprised if it is a boy now. Funny how much they change! The reason I think the boys are looking really boyish is the crest feathers---coming in really thin ind wiry on some, and nice and thick and wide on the others, I think the beginning signs of the roos ond hens-to-be. The wiry thin feathered heads also starting with a teensy bit of pink. I think I will go ahead and KSL the would-be boys now why they are little, if I can find a buyer. I put the buff on there, no luck so far. If anyvbody here wants them for free, let me know! Still a chance on a girl, I am not positive, but I need to weed through them to find the ones I am keeping, they are getting big.

Thanks for the offer on your buff girlie one...but I am in love with my girlie one, so hoping it all works out and she really is female, she is by far the sweetest personality of the bunch. She got chewed and bled a little by my GSL the other day, but I caught it in time and isolated them back in the cage, and she is healing up just fine. I think yours has prettier feathers though! Mine is really quiet, and likes people, the others are pretty skittish and noisier...but still cute :p

Oh oh, you mean feathers like this..could mean a boy? My BCW...:/

I see what you mean in the difference in the tops. This buff has more..feathers on top.
You probably already saw these from the other day, but that black topped one already has
them spread out more. Sure are friendly little things.

Cynthia, ooooh! Love your Silkie egg! The eggs Sundance paid me with had one like that in the bunch. Don't know which of her girls it came from, but I really loved the color and glossy look. Your splash is such a sweetheart, too. I still remember seeing her as a little squirt when my brother and I were down that one time. We both loved her!

These turkeys are interesting. I am now wondering if I have three hens. Or I could have two toms and a hen. I am still thinking that I have a tom and two hens. Are you confused, yet? Haha sorry. I will keep watching their behavior and the way they fill out, and we'll see who ends up being what.

Cynthia...still hard to tell from the pics. But is the width of the feathers on the black crested much narrower than the buff's? Not the width of the whole crest but the individual feathers? I definitely seem to have two distinct groups, narrow ones and really wide ones...thinking that is going to be the sex indicator....well for now lol you know how this goes. ;) My SL crests are both really fluffy, but ones' feathers are much more stringy looking...

Oh, ok, I see what you mean. Well then, my cuckoos aren't stringy! lol..that has to be a girl!

None of the others are looking stringy. That makes sense though, I've seen pics of those feathers hanging down on the big roos.

Will have to go check that out.

Where is Jill? Jill..I was wondering how your ahem...Birchens were looking. Any white at all. Mine has none, and this one is soo much a frizzle, pretty cute, but I want Ideal to know...so, if you could get some pictures, I can copy them to send off to them. They will reimburse me. Then you get some Favorelles if you want. I have them in lock down now. 12 of them. :)

Ok, I take that back, I found two eggs in that pen..and one has evidentally been there a while! She's been laying! Darn, and I thought I was looking pretty good. This one was up again the wood, and, it is smaller, so probably her first. It did rain, I'm guessing I didn't look too good that day..maybe yesterday, I was also out for a while. Oh well..won't eat this one..compared it to the other egg.

Gotta get that other pen set up for her!

Congrats on her laying, Cynthia!!!

Good luck with the Shelf Reliance party.

My little cockerel seems to be doing a little better. I added vitamins to the water, and he seems to be walking around a little more. I wonder if this is a "teenage pregnancy" type complication. But, sometimes they say it's due to malnutrition in the parents, which makes me wonder if I should be supplementing my chickens more. Or maybe they're eating too many pears this time of year...

Cynthia, hoping for girls on all your Polish. Good thing if you don't see stringy head feathers! How cool that first egg, where the cracking lines are, looks like a spiderweb. A little pre-Halloween egg for ya! I like the color too. How old is your silkie? Just wondering if they lay around 5 months like the others....wondering when my showgirl will be due.....

Sphinx, glad he is looking better, hope he is over the hump! Wonder what is up with that?

Lisa, she is just over 5 months. So, pretty close to the 20 week thing.

Fixing up a place for them, should say, Scott is. I go out and see if he needs help every now and again. Had DS help me clean that run and another. Love it when things get cleaned up out there. Didn't take much on either, small birds, and babies.
