Utah!

Sphinx, how interesting that you've gotten two fart eggs in a row. Earlier this year, I got a fart egg from my Marans. It was that dark brown color that Marans are known for. Only one I ever saw from her that wasn't light pink

Sphinx, just went to your add. Wow, those eggs are beautiful..what a great picture! So those legbars really do lay nice blue eggs. Just beautiful.
I am happy with the "one" robin blue egg I got from my friend. I've heard of the dark blues, but never did get any in the mail. Now, if it will just hatch, and if it will just be a girl. Oh yeah, same ol same ol, wanting it all to come together the way we want it. :)

Good luck on selling some eggs!

Just moved to Lehi in June but originally from Magna. I know, I know.....where's Magna? We don't talk about that. Anyway my landlords had chickens and left the first of Oct. to go on a mission to VT. so left us 3 and then I bought another 5 so now have 8. Right now we are only getting 1-3 eggs a day sometimes none. I think the guy we bought the 5 from pulled the wool over our eyes. Cuz he said they were only 1 1/2 to 2 yrs old and still laying but they aren't doing very good. Maybe it's just the cold and the dark? Just learning how to do this and have actually learned alot from this site. How old are they when they stop laying? Anybody??????

They do slow down around the age of 2. Plus, if you don't have light out there for them, they will start slowing down about now. And, how long ago did you get them? It takes some up to a week to start laying. If you have had them longer, then just try the lights.
I live in Spanish Fork...

Do have any pictures of the hens the guy sold you? Mine was slowing down so last week i turned the winter light on. Its on a timer to come on at 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm and again on at 6:00 am to 8:00 am. They was down to five a week but now im back up to 8-12 a week.

Welcome, Lott1! Magna isn't too bad of a place. I like that it still has some fields around

Chickens do slow down with laying around 2 yrs. I know someone that has two 7-yr-old hens that still give them one egg every couple of weeks or so.

lowes had pumpkins for a dollar each when i went today. nothing huge but hey for a dollar each i bought a bunch for the girls

Oh my gosh. I didnt even think about it. I have some extra pumpkins if anyone needs some. I have a lot of smaller ones that we dont carve. They would be good for small kids or for pies. They are perfect for those little hands. If anyone wants some please let me know.

be sure to feed some to your chickens, the seeds will worm them. and pumpkins will keep for weeks and are very good to feed to chickens and will cut down on your feed bill :) or you can give them away but you may want to think of using them. :)
