Valbazen Dosage?

I am currently treating one of my ducks with valbazen. She is having respiratory issues, and I'm concerned that it could be due to gapeworm. I figured de-worming her even just for general health was a good idea while she fights this respiratory issue.

My question is:
On here I saw a dosing chart that said for gapeworm give them a dose 3 consecutive days. For all other worms it says 1 dose and a second dose 10 days later.
So if I want to get rid of all worms should I do 3 consecutive days and again on the 10th day? I really don't want to overwhelm her system.
But I really don't want to take short cuts either.

I use valbazen often. It is the safest wormer on the market. Valbazen kills all known types of worms that chickens can get. It slowly kills worms over several days preventing toxic dead worm overload that other wormers cant. Dosage for standard size birds is 1/2cc given orally undiluted, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Repeat dosing in 10 days unless dealing with tapeworms.
I’m dealing with tapeworms….so I don’t repeat valbazen in 10 days? Or what do you mean. Thanks.

The best treatment nowadays for tapeworms is praziquantel. It is found in Equimax horse paste, in Zimectrin Gold, and in Droncit or Drontal tablets. Dosage of Equimax is 0.03 ml per pound given orally once and again in 10 days. The dosage s of the others is different. Most feed stores carry Equimax.

Edited to say the Equimax dosage is 0.03 ml per pound, or 0.16 ml for a 5 pound chicken.

Unfortunately, Valbazen has lost its effectiveness in treating tapeworms. I know this from personal experience dealing with tapeworms.
However, Valbazen eliminates all types of roundworms in poultry. It's still my go to wormer.

Use Equimax equine paste to eliminate tapeworms. Withhold feed the evening before and the next morning you're going to worm your birds. Worm your birds early before sunrise. Your birds will be starving, so will the tapeworms. The Equimax will be more effective eliminating the tapeworms in a weakened state.
Snatch a bird off the roost and worm her orally with the paste, then release her. Then snatch another bird and repeat until they are all wormed.
Wait 3 hours after worming before feeding your birds. When you feed them, feed them a small ration at first. Then gradually increase the quantity of feed you give them throughout the rest of the day back to normal.

Your birds will be starving and if you feed them full rations, they will gorge feed possibly causing impacted crop or gizzard. Do not withhold water.

How do I know if it a tapeworm or roundworm? It was white and long and not moving.

That's a large roundworm, not a tapeworm. Tapeworms are flat and segmented, however they shed rice looking segments in feces. Definitely use the Valbazen for the large roundworms.
The first pic are large roundworms, the second pic are tapeworm segments.

Here's a link with a better photo of large roundworms:

Ok it definitely didn’t look like rice, it looked more like the round worm picture. Thank you so much for your help. I’m new to chickens and get confused. I’m also dealing with mites at the same time😩
