Valentine day hatch

I didn't.

The other egg was just not hatching. Fully formed, but she wasn't even on it - it too was cold. My little silkie is sick...didn't really see until today when I went to feed her. She's in the garage, isolated and warm. I'm waiting for my chicks in the bator. Hoping they come through. Maybe next weekend, I'll go get some Wyandotte chicks to put in with the others. I'm so disappointed....my first broody experience.

The first two are pipping in my bator at school. I happened to be there at the right time and stayed for one hatch! My "Ameracauna" or EE (is probably more like it). I sang to it and cheered it on. Named it, "Sweet Pea." The theme is going to be flower names!

I hated to leave them....it was sweet I got to see that one hatch and hear another pipping egg peeping inside. So sweet!

That's Sunflower and Daffodil.



4 hatched. 3 survived so far. I have 3 more eggs in the bator....I'll let them stay in there about 2-3 more days.
