Valentine's Day Hatch!!!

I got my very first silkie egg today!

I thought they would never start laying. It is a tiny little thing but I'm going to put it in the incubator with the rest anyway. What are the chances of it hatching?? infertile??? too small???

I'll put my 17 that came today in tomorrow after I empty and clean the turner for lockdown on my 1st solo hatch

There seem to be bunches of us getting a jump on those Easter chicks at the feed stores!

Alexandria. I remember you from Shultz's chickenstock. You going this year? It is August. Did u get a white silkie hen from.....I can't remember her name. I was going to get a silkie from you late summer/early fall but it didn't work out.

I set 42 eggs yesterday - Ameraucana, EE, BLRW, Delaware. The hatch would be a couple days early on the 11th, but I'd like to join in.

And just for the heck of it, i threw in 6 millie fleur d'uccle egg's from my only hen. She started laying again this week so i decided to see if my roo got to her. When im around he seem's to pay her no attention at all "he's real big on my bigger standard size girl's" but you never know what happens when your gone so i figured why not.

We just set 48 eggs, hoping for a hatch on February 12, a day after my birthday! My kids are so excited, we have some random "clean legged bantams", some serama, and a few quail eggs (not real sure about these, but why not?!?) They will hatch a bit early, if at all. They are so small! These are all shipped eggs, my girls haven't started laying yet.

i got 17 bantam salmon & blue salmon faverolles eggs from 2 different breeders yesterday and i'm going to put them in the bator tomorrow!!

here's hoping for some sweet Valentine's day 'gifts'!
