well, my chicks are doing great, it's probably cuz my broodies doing all the work lol. I took me forever to find a jar that fit the bottom of the chick waterer, but I did.....kinda...the jar is a little too big but screwed on ok,though it took a couple tries.....

My last Serama needed help this morning, had itself half out, pushing and crying hard, but it was stuck. Popped it out and transferred the other two in with the first 3, took 2 1/2 days to get everyone out.

But all 6 that went into lockdown hatched! Not bad with shipped eggs! Everything that started finished except #7 that developed a bloodring. 10 eggs, 6 babies! Best shipped egg hatch rate I've ever had with chicken eggs.

3 dark colored ones with some red tint except for one obvious dark pullet is solid black. 3 light colored, 1 solid yellow, the others with red tint.

I think I have at least 3 pullets. One confirmed male, even my inexperienced husband said to it "You're a little rooster aren't you?" LOL

So sweet! I hatched 2 ancona with the NYD hatch and they are just the quirkiest and fun chickies, hope Noz is as much fun!

Thanks. I had set forty something quail eggs, of them only 2/3 were fertile. All of the infertile eggs came from one colony. I paired the hens from that colony with another rooster to test their fertility. These eggs show the girls are fertile so my rooster is a dud. I'll probly replace him with one of the Valetines chicks.

Second place was Illia with a hatch rate of 66.67% with 28 of 42 hatched.

Third place was debs_flock with a hatch rate of 64.44% with 29 of 45 hatched. (This is amazing with all of the store bought eggs that she had in the incubator as well as taking the eggs on vacation with her.
