Lockdown day woot woot!!

Everything looks good. I have 26 of 29 maran eggs developing nicely!

I had three that never developed so I threw them out and they must have gotten scrambled during shipping.

How's everyone else coming along?

Going into lockdown when I get home. I have been very good, haven't candle in a long while. Hoping, I have several wigglers that can go in tonight.

45% Relative Humidity.

I have heard that maran eggs like a lot of humidity. I don't know if that is true or not.

In lockdown I have it up to 65% with the air vents open.

Thanks. I have heard both ways...they need low and they need high. last year I tried with a low humidity...and only got 1 chick out of 17 eggs. This year I have kept the humidity between 45 and 50... we'll see

That should work. It's always better to have the humidity a little too high than too low.

Due to hatch on Friday....if all goes right. I started with 24 eggs....and 2 never started to develop...so Im down to 22

Hi,
I have not been on for a few days...don't know if you found help with your question?
I just had this happen. The chick pipped at the top of the egg. After many hours of no zip, I removed the top of the egg.
No blood. put it back in the incubator to see if it could finish on it's own.........Finally helped it out...........It is fine...........

Thank you for responding. Today is hatch day. One egg has already hatched. The other (the one with the tiny air cell) has pipped at the correct end so I have hope he-she will be ok. It has been pipped for over 12 hours so I'm getting anxious.

hello everyone,
Lockdown today for 12 Wheaton Am's..................

My hatcher went out...and have 5 Serama eggs in with the Am's.grrrrrrrrrrr
I don't know if it will hurt them....guess I'll know in a few weeks.......
I did not bring the humidity way up. Will do that at first pip.
Makes me very nervous....................
