Valentine's hatch-a-long

Best Valentine's Day gift ever!! I woke up this morning to around 10 pips and a whole bunch of little chirps!!

Too bad I have to go to work...I won't be surprised a bit if there is more than one chick running around my bator when I get home at 3:00.

Super eggcited!! :)

lovely birds in your avi. The white ones must be really pretty in the fall with some red leaves in the background.

Thank You!!

This is my first year with the whites. I can't wait to see their full trains this spring!

I love my chickens but peafowl are my passion! In all actuality they are the whole reason I am incubating chicks. I have never hatched before and got a brand new incubator to hatch peachicks this spring and wanted to start with something a tad less expensive.

This is my second hatch ever and it so far it's going great. I had 100% hatch rate in my first hatch also. I really do owe all the credit to everyone on here for the great incubating info! That and I have to say if I ever buy another incubator it will definitely be BRINSEA! All I do is add water every few days, temps stay perfect and I don't have one single complaint...well except that they could sell them a little cheaper!

IF I ever get the $$ to spare, Id love to buy one of their incubators.

I'm half way through day 21.. and things are looking fairly quiet in my bator.......

Me to, very quiet.and as many times as I have hatched eggs.. I still get a knot in my stomach
worrying......These looked good at 18 day candle but they are shipped and that always worries me.
My last hatch.a week ago, I float tested on day 23 and almost drowned my last chick.
I had a few eggs that were real iify but I put them in anyway, just in case............

They were duds.................except one egg that started bouncing like crazy. When I picked it up I discovered
it had pipped. grrrrrrrrrr little beak hanging out. Thought for sure it was toast. I made the hole a little bigger
the tipped it to get the water out...................IT HATCHED.............cute as a button, no problems...........

Been 23 days now

I think they maybe got cooked when my temperature went all wonky. :{
Do you want to float test them?.If so, jst be sure the water is close to the same temp. as the incubator.
I did last time at 23 days and it worked for me........goo
