Just candeled my Black crested white Polish:( All were clear:( PO rough handeling damaged these too badly. Hoping everything else turns out ok. I have eggs from 4 places in there but those were my only Polish and I really wanted them. I guess I'll be searching for some more Polish to try and hatch again later on. I am taking a break after this hatch since I think it's gonna be too hot for shipped eggs.

Hey Vamp!
Okay, I have 7 eggs under 2 broodies right now.
They went in on Monday.
Last night I candled and I saw veins in a few!
I already have brown egg layers and a couple EEs,
so this time I chose Brown Leghorn and Gold Campine -- two white egg layers.
I want to have every color possible when I go out to gather eggs.
I had 8 eggs -- but one of the broodies went a little psycho and ate one of the eggs. Boy what a mess.
She seems to have mellowed out.

My first Araucana egg gave up on me! This is disappointing as it should have hatched in 6 more days. And now I also see one of my hens is laying duds. Luckily there are 5 arau eggs developing with the second egg that should hatch in 7 days. And my quail eggs look as if they will hatch with everyone else's eggs.

OH I AM SO SAD!!!!

My stupid weiner dog got into my brooder and killed 11 of my babies- my genlte sweet EE, my silkies, and my australorps- I only have three australorps left, and two non-vaulted silkies. (not the ones just hatched with the show girls, those are fine-seperate brooder)....my EE was so sweet- none of the other chicks liked her.

I am so sad, I am just horrified and so broken hearted. It was so fast and so terrible. I just cant believe it.

Oh, I'm so sorry! That must have been awful.
Day 18 at school today. Took the turner out and added water this morning. Humidity only went up to 55% by the end of the day so I found a brand new sponge, soaked it and added that. No idea what I'll be coming in to Monday morning. Cross your fingers for me. It's so hard not to be able to check on them all weekend.

Oh no!!! That is so awful!!! I know how you feel....one time I had a batch of 30 silkie chicks, all different colors, and my dogs got in and killed all but 4 of them. It happened in about a 10 minute period. I was so heartbroken, too. Poor little defenseless babies....
