Vamp's hatching crew! who cares what day u r on!Hatch with us!

I would love hatching buddies!
I am new to the whole clucker world.
Inherited a flock of 10, 5-8 year old ladies 'bout 7 months ago.
Out of the blue the golden laced wyandotte went broody. SO I got her a mixed dozen fertile eggs and this is the beginning of day 8!
She is sitting tight.
I can't wait to see how this call comes out.
Look forward to seeing everyones progress.

Alright! Lots of hatching buddies! It is now day 7 for me.I am getting more eggs too. Don't tell my husband. Haha. I'm not sure how I am gonna sneak those by him. I'll have to butter him up somehow. I am hoping if I get some money out of my gold cuckoo marans then he'll see I'm trying to make a business out of this. Anyone wanna buy a chicken sweater?

We're on day 11 with our school hatch. I can't get the room dark enough or a light bright enough to candle them well so I have no idea how we're doing. We much just be doing it the wait and see way.

I'm candling tonight! Day 7! I use a desk lamp, with the shade upside-down, then rest a round 6" cardboard cylinder (from carpet roll, went dumpster diving

) on top, then a cardboard box with a small hole in it for the light to shine. It works great, and I can use it on the counter when it's dark out and no other lights are on!!! I'll take a pic later. It was free, and that is always the best price!!!

Hooray for us hatching buddies!!!!

I'm also ending day six but I've got 8 buff call duck eggs. I candled some earlier and out of the four I candled, 2 looked great, 1 looked clear and the other I am not sure about. I've also got another 8 assorted call duck eggs in that are on day 16 but I think most of them are duds.

Me and the kids are heading of to visit my Mom in Montana, soooo my poor husband will be on egg watching duty. We will be back in time for the hatch on the six day eggs though.

Day candling looks great everyone has eyeballs and is wiggling. Next week or so I'm getting SQ polish and some mixed eggs w a turken, polish, and blue orp daddies with silkie buff orp dominique and ameracauna hens. Can't wait!

Well, my candling went ok. I have 2 I think did not progress, look like clear fluid with a floating yolk in it. Will check again in a few days. The other 6, well, I saw some movers/shakers in 2, the other 4 were too dark but I saw veining for sure! Yay!!!! Steph

I told my hubby about the new eggs and he was okay with it once he realized how much they are worth. He even suggested making the porch of the coop into two more pens. I am so shocked. He thinks I'm getting 20 eggs. He doesn't know about the other 20 plus...I hope that turken rooster fathers alot of babies. LOL
