Vanilla Scented Dust. ITS A MIRACLE!

It seems just fine. Chinchilla are EXTREMELY sensitive to just about EVERYTHING and they eat it and are fine. I'm sure my chickens would be showing health problems by now otherwise.

As far as soaking, what about vanilla scented oils? They come concentrated and those trees can be soaked in them. They also make oil rocks that you soak in the oil to freshen the air. Maybe we could make something like those little scented pochettes you put in drawers and such.

Ingredients are:
Finely Powdered Volcanic Ash,
Natural Oil Absorbers,
Fragrance.

Volcanic Ash - Hmmm.
Our chickens always dust where we have our fire, we don't have a trash collection so we burn everything burnable and sell anything recyclable and of course the chickens recycle left over food. I wonder if there is something in dust from fires/volcanos that is good for chickens, and how do the chickens know that ?

It's so funny to see them after a bath, about three feet from the fire everyone has a shakedown and there's little circles of grey dust on the grass, it'd be nicer if they smelled of vanilla rather than plain ash.

Very cool idea...I am going to have to give this a shot. Love the idea of cooling in the fridge or freezer before putting it out too. The heat here has been so unberable for people. I can't imagine what they are going through with all those feathers. That cool dust has to feel like a little slice of heaven to them!!! Heck if they seem to really enjoy it, I may have to get down there and roll around in it with them!!!
