Does anyone know if variegated pittosporum also known as Japanese mock orange is ok to plant in and around chicken run?

Does anyone know if variegated pittosporum also known as Japanese mock orange is ok to plant in and around chicken run?

Mock Orange is on the "no no" list for avians.
