Vent gleet?

Does she still have a bad odor coming from her rear? Are you using an antifungal?

I have to confess that I'm having a difficult time making sense of these photos. They just aren't focused enough to allow my brain to fully interpret what I'm seeing. But it looks a bit like her vent is trying to prolapse. Is the inner vent becoming protruded or am I imagining it?

Are you continuing to bathe her butt every day? That's important if this is vent gleet as the fungus will continue to harm the skin if not cleaned. But if she has a reproductive issue, such as a stuck egg or broken egg, other measures should be taken. Her behavior should be able to give us some clues if she's having a reproductive crisis. How is she acting?

She isn't laying yet, so not a reproductive issue. Still bathing her twice a day, morning and evening. I'll try to take better pictures this afternoon, my phone camera just doesn't do it I guess. I've been using an antifungal, but I do not know if it's actually vent gleet or if it's just damage from being pecked. Still using Vetericyn also to treat the wounds, but switching to a triple antibiotic ointment today. I'm not sure about the beginning of a prolapse. Her vent has always been like an outie belly button, even as a chick, if that makes sense. But I agree it does look more swollen than normal. I just figured that was from the trauma. She acts fairly normally, still eating and drinking. I've been offering yogurt and have added ACV to her water. I'm just worried because we are going out of town for Thanksgiving. I have someone checking on them Friday and Saturday but not tomorrow so I really wanted to get her on the path to healing tonight before we leave so I don't come home to a dead chicken.

Vent tissue is delicate, and the trauma could make it swell. What you're doing is great. Keep up the Vetericyn and using an antibiotic ointment is a good idea, too.

Is the caretaker that will look in on your chickens up to doing first aid if it comes to that? Is this chicken acting lethargic and declining instead of improving? If she's not going the direction of improving, your caretaker may need to step in with some warm sugar water, soft boiled egg and some extra heat if she starts to decline rapidly.

At the minimum, will your caretaker be able to spray the Vetericyn on this chicken's wounds to keep the bacteria from getting out of control?

She isn't acting lethargic as far as I can tell, but I also have her inside and covered so she can rest. When I open the cage though, she does walk around and comes out on her own. I'm mainly worried that her vent looks really bad. My caretaker is willing to apply cream and Vetericyn. I'm sure she wouldn't mind giving her food or extra heat if needed. I'm just worried about the day that no one will be there. It's going to be nearly 32 hours that she won't have care. I will apply medication before I leave at midnight tonight, but then she will have to wait until Friday morning for the next treatment.

Thank you for the reassurance. I'm a first time chicken mom. This is my first time leaving them and also my first sick/injured bird, so I'm just nervous. Of course this all had to happen right before we leave for 3 days haha
