So, I went out side this morning to feed my various fowl. Well, when I got to my chickens, I noticed the broody was out and about, the only problem was that she was acting off. She was stamping her paws, waging her tail, and preening herself vigorously, looking overall uncomfortable. Anyway, I picked her up and looked her over, under her wings, legs, bottoms of feet ETC. Then i got to her vent and realized some minor scabbing, red in color, nothing swollen or overly abnormal. Well my problem is that this seems to be making her overly uncomfortable.

Cause? should I treat it, if so how?

Pictures? Is she being pecked by the others possibly wanting her nest box? Have you checked her for lice and mites?
Thanks for the response, I don't have a picture, but as I said her vent looks normal other than the red scabs. I don't think other hens are pecking her but then again it is a possibility. If I were to check for lice and mites what would I be looking for. Thank you again!
