I would like to reactivate this thread. I am still real curious how the silkie breed can be feather sexed and would love pics to describe how you do it. I seem to end up with all roos and would like to be able to sort them earlier than when they start crowing. I know silkies cant be safely vent sexed but I have also read that they can be sexed based on the length of their first and third toe. I know there are a lot of wives tales out there. Now I have found with my partridge, that when they start revealing their colors, that the girls do not get any brilliant rust, red or vibrant buff colors. They are just blue and buff. Nothing that stands out with a WOW factor. My roos are all very colorful. Thoughts anyone?
