I think you've gotten an answer that makes sense. Its very possible that porous eggs are more delicate for shipping. There are breeds that are more difficult to hatch with shipped eggs; theres no reason to think that porous eggs wouldnt be the same way. Obviously, since people have had good luck with porous shipped eggs, the issue IS shipping. Either the bad weather, rough handling, whatever, the porous eggs apparently dont ship as well. Ive gotten different breeds of eggs in the same box, with one breed developing much better than the other. It didnt mean they were bad eggs; they were just more delicate.

Clay, there is no clear cut answer about the porous eggs. There are so many factors to consider that an answer cannot be given.

I assure you that I do not make a habit of sending out very porous eggs. As someone else stated they did get some porous eggs and they did hatch. However, I did not know that this could be a potential problem as you were the only one at the time that said anything.

Also, my eggs are usually 3-4 days old when I ship them, some eggs will not show up porous until they get older.

I can also assure you that this is not due to a poor diet as my birds are on Purina Gamebird Breeder and Purina Layena. I have increased my calcium and vitamins A&D in their drinking water and have supplemented their feed with alfalfa and will see if this makes a difference in the egg shell.

Even though you have made accusations as my treatment of you and to poor customer service and poor quality eggs I will stand by my previous offer for more eggs.

I would also like to note that Peachick's hens are from my stock, she hatched them last year. And she is very happy with them from what I understand.

I will also ask the Mods to close this thread as I think it should be wrapped up now.
