Very first bunny babies!

Day ten.
I expected their eyes to be open, and you can see they *almost* are :)

Right now we are dealing with a cold snap that has me scrambling to keep water flowing for the adults.
I don't mind changing out water bottles a few times- I even got extras to make that quick and easy. Only now the metal drinking tube freezes crazy fast- so there's a full bottle, but they can't drink. I'm worried because Hassen has been consuming lots, and I don't want anything to stress her or weaken her milk supply.
I'm looking at getting a heated rabbit bottle.

If anyone reading this has tips or reviews for winter help products- please let me know!

I use e-z crocks in the winter. I have extras I change out when it freezes. They do not freeze as fast as metal tubes for bottles and I think they like drinking out of them. I also feed my Does 1 Tablespoon calf manna a day till the kits are hopping out of the nest box to help with the milk production.

I'm going to get some plastic crocks. I put a dish out to see if Hassen would drink from one since she is used to a bottle, and she did! So I'm confident your suggestions will be just the thing. And save me from spending lots of money on heated bottles and electricity.

Here are the kits today, day 11:
All snuggled down into the warm nest.

Their eyes are still not open, but some seem to be on the verge or maybe partially open a tiny bit.
This is the first time that I have noticed signs of them needing a clean. Until now, the nest seemed perfectly clean, but today I saw a few dirty spots on some coats.
Should I do anything about this?
I am afraid to disturb the nest much.

Man, heated water bottles would be handy, but i would spend like hundreds of bucks on them because i have a lot of rabbits :)
Their eyes are just barely starting to open!!
I wouldn't clean them. They are still to young, it would really stress them. I would wait until they are around 6 weeks old before you try to wash them (if they still need it). If the nest is getting really gross, i would probably be a good idea to change it. Take the babies and as much fur as you can get out into a small box or something inside the cage...don't carry the babies a long way. dump the paper, and put new paper in. Try to do it as quick as possible. If the bedding isn't THAT dirty, you should wait.

I won't worry then. They are only just barely dirty. Before today I wondered how is Hassen even keeping it so clean? Because there were no signs of any waste. I think I will let them stay warm and as free from additional stress as possible.
