Very interesting facts about our beloved Congress

Remember, this is a quote from someone's Facebook page. The "fact" that they got this from FOX NEWS is probably as false as the rest. Don't denigrate Fox News because you don't agree with it. They are just like the rest, telling a story according to their personal slant. Check all your sources (NPR, Fox, network news, newspapers, etc) to get a balanced story.

But the "fact" that Fox News is not obligated to present information that is accurate does lessen their credibility as a reference source. True journalism presents news without a slant. The difference would be between someone stating "this was done" and "this crazy thing was done." Fox News, apparently, does not feel that the latter is abhorrent to the tenets of journalism.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Well, Royd I have one question.

Have you met or spoken to any single one of the people protesting? Even one? You have some pretty firm opinions about them that don't much mesh up with the people I know or have spoken to.

How about this guy:

Calling all Military Veterans of Reddit. We took an oath to protect the people and the constitution of the United States of America. Meet me on Wall St. (self.politics)
submitted 4 days ago by [deleted]
I'm heading up there tonight in my dress blues. So far, 15 of my fellow marine buddies are meeting me there, also in Uniform.
I want to send the following message to Wall St and Congress:
I didn't fight for Wall St. I fought for America. Now it's Congress' turn.
My true hope, though, is that we Veterans canact as first line of defense between the police and the protester. If they want to get to some protesters so they can mace them, they will have to get through the darn Marine Corps first. Let's see a cop mace abunch of decorated war vets.
I apologize now for typos and errors. Typing this on iPhone whilst heading to NYC. We can organize once we're there. That's what we do best. If you see someone in uniform, gather together.
A formation will be held tonight at 10PM.
We all took an oath to uphold, protect anddefend the constitution of this country. That's what we will be doing.
Hope to see you there
Edit:
I'm no longer in active duty or in any way contractually indebted to the military. Nor are any of my friends that are joining me.
To the officers' of this thread: I'm aware of the potential, maybe inevitable trouble I can get in. So too are my friends.
I don't really care about the debate here, the upvotes, the downvotes or anything in here really. Mental masturbation is awesome and all. But darn hell people get off reddit and do something about it. The decision is made. I just figured reddit to be a useful tool to get the attention of a good amount of veterans.

Me personally, I have never seen a Marine run from anything.

I don't have to have met them, personally. There are plenty of interview videos out there, punching holes in their, "Life's just not fair." philosophy.

How many Tea Party rallies have you been to? I've been to two and I can tell you this, the only cleanup grounds crews had to do, was empty trash cans.....Not so, with any of the many liberal and union gatherings, which I have viewed on tv and the internet, including President Obama's inauguration. It's as if cleaning up is always someone else's job....That, right there, speaks volumes, as to who these people are.

I think the original purpose for this thread has been met....it'll get shut down if it turns into a political debate about the Tea Party.

We'll get shut down any second here, but the true Tea Partiers, the real grass roots people who know what is wrong need to quit their corporate co-opted lets get rid of the government so the corporations can run free movement and join Occupy.....

or October 2011.org

Occupy Wall Street is not going to get anything done except make things worse. They're the pawns - how do you think corporations have the power they do now? Through GOVERNMENT.

Let me know when one of these movements (Tea Party or the Occupy Wall Street crap) actually accomplish something, so that I can have time to load all my guns in preparation for the response from the Feds.

If anyone ever threatens to actually change something, there will be bloodshed. There is no way around it. The government is paranoid, very paranoid now. They're terrified that maybe the sheeple are waking up. They will do ANYTHING to distract us from the cause of freedom, even if they have to start World War III or impose martial law. Either one will result in violence, and the way things are going, those of us (Occupy, Tea Party, Militia, Libertarian, etc.) who are willing to do something are too fragmented. Let's get some common ground here on as many issues as possible, and at least take a united stand on these. We can argue the other stuff later.

End the Federal Reserve. It's screwed us over for almost a hundred years, it's time to bring it down.
Bring the troops home - we're gaining nothing, and it's costing trillions. We're also making enemies. Leaving would gain some goodwill.
End corporate welfare - I know we can all agree on this. No more subsidies.
Stop restricting our freedom to produce and sell our own food. I'm looking at you, Raw Milk Nazis.
End all the freaking perks for being a politician. Governing needs to be a sacrifice, not a get-rich-off-of-other-people scheme.
Get rid of ALL infringements on the First and Fourth Amendments. That's right, PATRIOT Act, you need to go.

I think we can all agree on these.

No, we can't.

That mean you disagree with one or more of them?

When I said "we," I meant those of us interested in avoiding the destruction of our freedoms and actually changing things.

Q9, does "corporate welfare" include the subsidies given to agriculture to keep grain and animal products cheaper than they should be?

ETA -- I don't know if this guy is a member of the Tea Party, or just a protester from Wall Street, but in any case, I did enjoy what he had to say.

Yeah, I took the bait and jumped into the discussion.

Yep. If the subsidies were removed and free trade permitted, corn wouldn't be in EVERYTHING, sugar growers would have to compete with South American sugar growers again, and so on and so forth. There's a reason that the least healthy foods are the cheapest, y'know.
