Hello, I'm new to this forum...
I have 3 hens about 3-4 months old. The Rhode Island Red (Maggie) was looking good this morning when we let her out of the coop, but I just came home from work and let her out and she is extremely lethargic, lying down on the ground and breathing heavily. I gave her some water with a syringe. I don't think her crop is swollen? The other two hens are just fine, acting normally. Maggie does not seem like she has a respiratory infection, there is no discharge and I can't HEAR the breathing. It's just heavy. I'm in WA state, and it has not been hot here. Just warm, in the lower 70s at best. What could this be? Any ideas?
Thank you...
