so did YOU kill the cat, or did the bird?, I never read anywhere that the pheasant killed the cat.
just askin'
I'd never kill a cat, feral or otherwise, chickens-precious pets, livestock to US, are just food to a cat.
they do not know how to differ between that. "Oh, these chickens belong to a human, can't bother then" no cats don't do that, cats see a BIRD, and bird + = food.
same thing with all other predators, they see them as FOOD, not property.
so rather than blaming a CAT for doing what a CAT does, blame the people in charge of caring for the chickens, thats my thought.
every time our cocker has killed a chicken, it's not HIS fault, it's ours.are we going to shoot him, no.
we have cats, and they get fed daily, they also hunt, they keep the mice and rats away(for the most part). and they would, and probly HAVE killed a few of our young birds that have gone missing, thats not the cats faults, it's ours for not watching close enough.
our cats are just as much our pets as the chickens are.
case and point, if YOUR cat killed someones chicken, and they shot it, how would YOU feel?, no one ever thinks of that.
that being said, I'm glad your birds are safe.
