Hello. I am very new to this. I volunteer at a wild life rescue and a domestic duck (3 days old) was found and brought in. I decided to take him home and raise him. He is approximately a week old now. He’s doing great. He’s eating well he’s drinking water he is with myself or my husband all the time with the exception of us having to go out he is then in his plastic tub. There are many questions I do have to ensure I’m taking care of Ducky properly.
1. What color should his poop be?
It was that danish color from his starter feed mash and is somewhat whit now. Is that normal?
2. He scratches a lot and tips over us this normal?
3. When is it safe to supervise him in water?
4. I just switched his small water bowl (which is constantly empty) with a gravity water feeder(small enough that he won’t submerge himself in) is this ok?
I know I may sound ignorant or paranoid but again this is the first time I have ever raised any domestic bird. Any advice will be welcomed and appreciated

Well the wildlife rescue should know because you do the same for wild Ducklings as with domestic as far as feeding and care.
He will be happier with a friend. Ducks need friends. A feed for Ducklings is needed or an all flock starter feed. Heat and water deep enough to dunk it's head. How old is it ? What breed? Pictures would help.

He is on starter feed. He’s in a plastic tub in a heated room and a heat pad under the towel. I just got a gravity water feeder. I will try and post pics. He’s about a week old and he is a domestic Mallard

I’d def start adding some Nutritional yeast to the ducklings feed since your using starter. It doesn’t have the amount of niacin ducklings need for healthy legs. 1 Tab to each cup of feed you give. My ducklings love it I just sprinkle it over top. If you can post a pic of poop that would be helpful.
