So, Muffin, the BO finally allowed me to video him crowing this morning! Actually, I hid behind a cement pillar so he wouldn't see me.

Anyway, I am home from church this morning because I am not feeling well. Muffin was crowing, so I attempted to video him, and then let them him and the girls out to range in our yard. I was in laying on the couch and heard a steady and very LOUD CLUCK-CLUCK-CLUCK-CLUCK. After it went on without stopping for about a minute, I figured it must be something more than an interesting bug that someone was all in a huff over, so I dragged myself outside to check it out.

Muffin was standing at attention, with one foot raised in the air (What's that all about?), clucking his head off over by the fence that separates our yard from the neighbor's. When I got over to where he was standing, i said, "What's wrong, Muffy?" He squawked really loud and looked into the weeds on my neighbor's side of the fence. I heard the tiniest little chicken peep ever and realized that two of my girls were on the WRONG side of the fence and were hiding in the weeds from my neighbor's dog.

So I had to let myself in to neighbor's yard and catch the girls and toss them back over the fence. Then I found the hole where they sneaked through and covered it with some cinder blocks. When the girls were back in our yard, Muffin finally hushed, ran over to the girls and put his wing over top of one of them. Too cute! Then he ran over to me and stood right beside me, touching my leg with his side. (this is something big because he usually likes to stay several feet away and doesn't want to be touched)

Now they are all safely and happily devouring any blackberries they can reach.

What a good rooster boy! Maybe he was thanking you for help in his harem's rescue! That is a really great story!
