Very random question, but how fast can you type?

Not sure. My husband types extremely fast and is superb at data entry jobs. I don't type nearly as quickly, but always have people tell me I type 'freakishly fast'.

I personally feel much of it is largely a generational difference, along with some economic differences (not all schools can afford, or are interested in having typing classes like my public high school did). I would love to find a way for my coworkers, friends, and anyone else in my area who would like to learn basic computer skills and typing skills to learn them. I don't have time to individually help every single person who asks, but it'd be really neat to be able to get a few computers set up and to get people started on those skills in a small class type setting (many can't use a typing program because they either can't afford a computer at home, or will need to be shown how to turn on a computer and install a program). Especially in today's job markets, these are very important skills to have, and so many of the people who are just coworkers at my little workplace have a real drive to learn these skills. I'd really like to see something geared towards lower income people, as many people I know who are struggling with computers are also struggling to pay the basic bills. I know it is a set of skills that can help one earn more money, but the here and now is a huge limiting factor for many financially. Gotta eat before you can learn to type.

I haven't been able to find such a program in my area. Does anyone have a similar one in their area, and if so, what is it called?

When on BYC about 10x faaster then i can when i have to type something boring.

Let's just say that when I bring my laptop to class, my notes are lecture dictations. And I don't have to look at the keyboard.

70 words per minute on average touch typing with between 95 and 98% accuracy depending how switched on my brain is, or if its a new keyboard.

Last time i checked was 70 wpm around 90% accuracy. That was a few years ago.

I haven't a clue what I'm doing wind whatever I can't hear properly I can't multitask this is terrible I can't think of anything coherent to say, departing traffic what what is going on? oh well it's the jolly guy who says that things just keep getting better and better! I think I agree with him! Life is good! I'm trying to look at the clock and type at the same time. my back aches doing this. Haha

... okay. Just finished the Haha. Didn't even get to put a full stop in.

Ah, that's 80. Not bad for half leaning over trying to see the clock in the corner of my screen.
