Very Scraggly Quail-help!

Hey guys!
My quail are acting very nervous now that they are outside, but I think they are adjusting. I’m a little worried about Scarface. In the last week she has become super scraggly and dumped a TON of feathers. She looks kinda weird but none of the other birds look like her. Is this just a late molt? I had to cover the cage for a few days because of rain so could she have assumed it was winter and started molting?

I'm not really sure, but one of my birds started molting really early last year. she looked like a half plucked chicken. litterally. you could see little patches of skin. (it also looked like a feather bomb exploded in their cage.)

here is a photo. I noticed there are pin feathers exposed, etc, but no blood or flesh. The other birds are exhibiting a lesser, similar loss but Scarface has it the worse. I have them on a bedding of mulch, dirt, and grass mix from the yard to try and make it a natural habitat. Is that a good idea? They still seem very stressed at outside life an it’s been a few weeks. Egg laying has also bottomed ouT since I moved them outside.

Oh. Turns out, after I did a little more research, I’m just stupid and they’re molting I didn’t know pin feather growth and lack of eggs was part of it, I just thought they dumped their feathers and that was it. Lesson learned! I treated them to some birdseed,eggshell and a little cabbage to make up for constantly picking them up to check for mites the last few days
